Hello-

I am trying to buy a Sabre Sneaker hoof boot for my horse, but haven't
had any luck getting a response from the company through their website
email, or by phone. Has anyone bought anything from them recently?
It looks like a really nice product that might work well for my horse,
who has a hole in the bottom of her foot that I'm trying to keep
clean. She's wearing an Easyboot now, but keeps getting it off.

Thanks for any information!

Snowmane,

I haven't talked with Sally Chamberlain (the owner) in a while but I do
believe it's a "one person" kinda business as far as getting a response.
Sally made a custom "boot" for my horse a while back and was wonderful about
it. We even had to ship it back and forth a couple of times before it was
just right. She made me a little boot that just covers the back part of
Comet's eggbar shoe, which was cutting into her elbow when Comet laid down
(or got up -- I'm not sure exactly when it would happen).

It's a very nice product and Sally was wonderful. Not charging me anything
till I'd had the boot for a while and it was working.

I hope you get a hold of her. Has it been a few days or longer? She could
be out of town or something like that and as I said, I think she answers all
her own emails and phone calls...no staff for that. Small business I guess.

Good luck. JJ

Duct tape.

Without which nothing stays put in that region of Dobbin's anatomy. Morover
it's far cheaper than Yet Another Appliance that will stay put about as well
as what you already have. We know this without even looking at it. It's the
nature of the thing.

reads it to question everything in which they believe.

I love it! Terry to the rescue!

Personally, I love the 4" wide duct tape to the conventional 2" duct
tape. You can find it at certain hardware stores, OSH? Home Depot?
I forget where. But scrap the 2" duct tape and get the really serious
stuff :)) Also, get a helper to apply this duct tape because it's so
sticky it's next to impossible to hold horse's leg up, dispense tape,
and keep it all in place.

Although Terry disagrees, I have used the Sabre Sneaker with more
success than duct tape. My mare threw her shoe (and much wall) and had
to wear it for a while. I have also used it when I had a loose shoe and
the farrier couldn't come out for a few days. It stays on very well,
but it may take a while to get hold of the owner.
