This was taken last week, enjoying the sunny & warm weather in Aiken, SC.
Linus went on to place 2nd in our first USEA-recognized event together last
week, at beginner novice. It was a big step up for Linus, considering our
lifetime competition experience leading up to last week totaled exactly 2
local schooling events last year at the 2 foot level. :-)

Cute. Congratulations.

Oh Lisa, poor Linus. Look at him, paralyzed by fear. And you, laughing
at his cowed behaviour. You brute!
What a guy.
What, you drove to Aiken? Intrepid girl!
What a cute, cute horse!
Abby
Thanks!
I know, it is sad how I clearly mistreat and intimidate my horses, and the
resulting lack of trust between us, isn't it? I really must get some help
for this problem of mine.
This is the same horse whose purchase was deemed "the biggest mistake of my
life" by at least one person at my former barn...go figure. He just ATE UP
that cross country course - up bank, down bank, water crossing & all, and
with a tremendous gallop stride on him. The lowest mark received on any
individual dressage movement on our dressage test was a 6. Such a good boy!
Oops, I'll stop raving now. Sorry.
The drive was 17 hours, 15 minutes on the way down. 17 hours, 50 minutes on
the way back. When I finally went to bed last night, I dreamed all night
long that I was still driving the horse trailer. A friend came with me on
the trip. Her background is h/j/equitation so this eventing thing was a
whole new world for her. Judging from the way she was galloping Suzi Q
around on a cross-country school on Thursday, I think eventing has gained a
new convert to the dark side. Muh huh huh!

I have almost an identical photo of my ex sitting on TLG BooBoo.

Lisa...

Cute! Congratulations. I gave him good dressage marks too. ;-) He's
quite nice, you know.
Wow. How sweet he is!!
Congrats!!!

Thanks! He really is a good boy, I think. I saved that test that you
judged - it is sitting in Linus' file, right next to his current coggins and
vaccinations. :-)
The judge this weekend was diplomatic in regards to Suzi's test, which
wasn't nearly as good as Linus'. Suzi entered the ring with the idea that
the horse who completes the dressage test in the fastest time wins. Perhaps
ski joring 2 weeks before the event wasn't the most helpful thing for her
dressage. Anyway, the judge wrote: "willing to go forward" in the comments
section. That was a very nice way to put things!
Now I'm off to play the lottery, because one week in Aiken is WAY too short!
