I've had my Crosby Torino for about 20 years. I learned to jump with
it, I showed QHs in Hunt Seat with it for several years, I've used it
while breaking young horses and now I use it occassionally for
pleasure riding. The saddle is still in nice enough shape to show in
and I've never had to replace anything on the saddle (other than going
thru several girths). The leather is a little darker now and my
tastes have changed in regards to the style of the saddle. But, I
definitely feel I got my money's worth.

The older Crosbys were wonderful, but I wouldn't take a new one for free.
I was in Miller's Manhattan store in February and was shocked at the lousy
leather and quality of the Crosby saddles. Of course, the prices are
higher than ever! Elisa

I bought a Crosby 3.5 years (Hampton classic) and after more than a year
of struggling with a bad back (caused by rotating pelvis), I've learned
that my saddle is the culprit. Seems they don't use a good stuffing
in the saddle and mine wore down unevenly. Althogh two saddle makers have
different opinions about whether or not it is permanently twisted, it
is functionally twisted in its current condition. I just bought a Passoa
and I hope I have better luck. Seems like you get what you pay for.
