Hi, I have had my pioneer rear projection tv for about ten years now, not
many hours of use. Just yesterday it turned off by itself and will not turn
back on. If I unplug it for a few seconds and plug it back in, It will power
up then shut off about 1 second later, sounds like a relay is dropping out
or something. Does it sound like a power supply problem?...Anything else I
should check?....thanks rick

Hi,
Sounds like a Switching power supply. You can go threw and try and
find the bad one by the brige method or replace all of them. I use a
Cap check that has cut down on my repair time drastically. They run
around $180.00. It payed for it self in 2 days, working on switching
power supplies.

Power/deflection board, as stated, either defective caps and or very lousy
solder connections. other thing common is failure in convergence circuits
that can cause protective shutdown.
