My kids were talking about getting me new frames for the license plates for
my truck for Father's Day - something along the lines of "I LOVE
WOODTURNING". But so far, none of us have been able to find anything. I
thought for sure some enterprising person out there would have something
like that, but if there is, we can't find them.

Any ideas ... ?

TIA,
Tim

When I saw your subject line my first though was "somebody has or wants to
turn a license plate frame" and immediately started thinking about how it
could be accomplished.

From what I've seen every sizeable town has a shop or two which does plastic
engraving and every one of these I've seen has offered custom license plate
frames. Failing that, vendors of such wares seem to show up at state fairs
from Alaska to Florida and will make a frame saying anything you like in a
few minutes. But I guess it is still a bit early for fair season...

I did an internet search on "license plate frames" and came up with quite a
few. Here's one you can check out. Personalized for $15.95 or less.

There are many others. Do a Yahoo or Google search.

I know it's not what you are actually asking for but you can easily turn
them yourself. Hadn't thought of doing it for a license plate frame before
though. You just do a picture frame turning and glue/finish it to withstand
the vibrations and environment. It'll be totally unique too.

I'll have to give it a try, hmmmmmmmmm.
