Does Lowes or HomeDepot normally carry 100% Tung Oil?

I didn't want to make the special trip if they didn't.

I have never seen anything labelled pure tung oil in any of the
big-box home improvement stores.

big-box home improvement stores.

I believe the correct term for those stores are BORG. Big Orange
Retail Giant. Any resemblance to the man-machine entity swallowing up
everything in ist path is purely coincidental.

Nope, save the gas. Here are 2 mail order suppliers (there are more, I
just can't think of any at the moment):

www.woodcraft.com Woodcraft sells their own private label pure tung
oil, just a re-package job from another company, I'd guess.

http://www.garrettwade.com/ Garrett Wade sells Behlen brand pure tung
oil, I use it and I like it a lot. They also sell a line of high
quality (and high priced) tung oil based finishes from Sutherland
Welles, of which some would argue are some of the best finishes out
there of their kind.

http://woodworker.com/cgi-bin/home.exe Woodworker's Supply also sells
Behlen pure tung oil, and J.B. Moser tung oil finishes (more simialr to
varnish). And they sell the Behlen's in a pint can as well as quarts,
so you cna buy small and see if you like it. I little goes a long way,
and the Behlen can wll actually suggest you can thin the oil with up to
4-parts mineral spirits if you want to.

If the product is labeled as "pure" or "100% pure" tung oil, and has a
obvious nutty odor, then that is what you are getting, pure tung oil.
If it smells at all of a solvent/chemical, and is labeled something
along the lines of "tung oil finish", it MIGHT contain a smidgen of tung
oil (maybe!), and is more likely to be nothing more than thinned down
varnish that doesn't contain any tung oil at all.

Good luck.

Yep, some would. :-)
BTW, Lee Valley sells their relabled Sutherland Wells Tung and Polymerized
Tung oils in 250 ml, which I believe is just a little more than a half
pint.

If you have a Woodworker's Warehouse store in your area, you can get it
there. They carry pure Tung oil, though I don't know which brand.

If you need it quick, and are not close to one of the woodworking stores above,
you can get it at any art store.  (Michael's have them here in Cinci)

And I had passed a Michaels yesterday on my travels! Well its mail order or drive to Woodcraft (45 minutes) but usually worth it!

The Woodworker's Warehouse in our area doesn't carry any pure tung oil.
Come to think of it they don't carry much of anything except big power
tools.

Ooo, I'll have to check into that! Garrett Wade likes to sell you lifetime
supplies in quarts and gallons only.

Please sign my petitions to bar Dr. Lyn Mangiameli from being contracted by the Judicial Council of California to conduct psychological evaluations. He previously made a false determination of competency without ever meeting or speaking with me. Dr. Mangiameli didn't even use an assessment.

He knew that my children were being sexually abused, but all he cared about was pocketing my former attorney's money.

Dr. Mangiameli was only interested in the money. Without my consent, he used his state issued license to sell my right to protect my children. He just didn't give a shit about what it means for my kids.

Having a conscience is destructive for him because it would mean that he couldn't pocket the money.
