tatting sources

gotten organized my source list. It was mainly derived from my
days on the Prodigy tatting board. Special thanks to Mary McCarthy,
Suzann Welker, LeXuan Culbreath, Lou Santiestevan and others.
Additions and corrections are welcome. Just email them in. I'll
be keeping this list here, so email me if you missed it.
Most of the stuff in here is from early 1993, so the prices may be
outdated. And note that Cindy's Stitches is going out of business,
or so I hear (sob!). Some other newsletter-type publications may be
out of business as well.
One thing that's not in here and should be is the Ring of Tatters,
a large group of tatters based in England. There's a newsletter
twice a year, and they can accept US funds until Feb. 28th. I have
the info at home, so if you're interested, drop me email. I've
been a member for a year, and it's definitely worth it if you tat.
Just get in before Feb. 28th, since I'm told that international
money orders are expensive. (allow for mailing time, too...this means
do it soon!) I've also heard of a Canadian tatter's group, but have
little or no info on it. I can probably find it, though...

Thank you for posting such a comprehensive list! There are
a few corrections that should be made if the list is going to
be propagated
Lacis is indeed in Berkeley, but the area code is 510, not 415.
This changed a few years back. For visits to Lacis: they are open
on Saturdays, but you should call ahead to find out the hours
just in case they change them or are closed for the day.
Beggar's Lace post office box has changed. I noticed the
difference when looking through the Craft Supply Sourcebook.

Okay, now that I've gone and told everyone on the net this address,
I have to rescind the information. :-(
I did get a reply from the owner this weekend. She said that since her
husband has passed away, she no longer has any shuttles. She gave me
alternate sources of Beggar's Lace and Lacis. I ordered a catalog from
Beggar's Lace a few days before posting this, so if there's anything else
of interest, I'll add it when I receive the catalog.
Also, while Beggar's Lace does not currently have a wholesaler's
catalog, Gretchen indicated that she was trying to put one together.
