de-lurking...
I just ordered the pattern book from Mary Maxim for Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, &
Eeyore. I would like to find patterns for Rabbit, Owl, Kanga, Roo, and
Kessie. I would appreciate any help!

TIA Susan

Thanks for posting this, Susan. I was about to order the book, but since it
only contains the four you mentioned, I don't think I'll bother. $16.95 for
4 patterns seems a little steep. And besides, I really wanted Owl, Kanga and
Roo. Sigh.
If you get any responses, I'd appreciate hearing about them.
TIA
Katherine

Hi!
I too received the Mary Maxim catalogue and saw the Pooh patterns. I also
would like patterns for all of the animals in the hundred acre woods, not
just these four.
Thanks

And you know, this summer, I was looking for stuffed Pooh characters, and
could only find the four of them. THe salespeople at the various stores tell
me that the others arenot even in their catalogues. Can you imagine that?

It's a Leisure Arts book. Write to them. I went to Michaels looking
for this book. It's been all the talk on CrochetPartners. I was told
at one store that they already had in all their Fall and Winter
materials. I told her it was a hot item and people would come in
droves to buy it. (Maybe I exaggerated) I believed her when she said
she had no control on what was sent.

I love Leisure Arts... and of course, the Winnie the Pooh characters! I
didn't realize that there was a book out for crocheted Pooh characters. I
haven't had a Mary Maxim book in ages... guess I should write them and
request a catalogue.

Hmmm, I used to know a lady who was the manager of the nearest LewisCraft
store... she ordered different pattern books and yarn, so she always knew
(and had full control over) what was sent to them. I can't imagine why the
lady at Michaels wouldn't have that same control.

Anyway... would anyone have the address for Mary Maxim, and also for
Leisure Arts, so I can write them? Thank you in advance! :o)

Wouldn't you know I just threw out all my old Mary Maxim catalogues
yesterday? And they've already gone to the recycling center. I do
recall that they are in Troy, MI... and I know that you can call
1-800-555-1212, and get their toll free number.
Now as long as I'm in here, is WORKBASKET magazine still in print? I
used to subscribe...

Who did you contact for it? I ordered mine directly from Leisure Arts and it was
only 11.95 plus shipping. I hope to find the rest of the gang but I don't think
they have them out yet.

Hiya!

I'm new here, just found this place.  I was hoping to find a newsgroup with crochet stuff -=) I just started crocheting (Did i spell that right?) about a week ago. I'm pacing myself and having my mother-in-law teach me.  I don't have much money this Christmas so I decided to make my family crochet stuff -=)

Anyway,....

My mother-in-law let me borrow some of her crochet pattern books to get me started and i have a pattern for a giraffe doll.... It's in this pattern book called Noah's Ark for Baby.  If you want the pattern, I can copy it down for you -=) It looks pretty cute.  If I was good enough to crochet a doll I would for my cousin.....

Let me know, I'll be glad to help.

Hiya!

Melissa,

That's a really sweet offer. It's also ILLEGAL to copy and share copyrighted
material. Post the name of the book and the publisher if you want (so that
anyone reading can buy their own copy or borrow it from the library, but
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE don't copy (either by copier or by hand). That's not
fair to the designer ho counts on sale of patterns for his/her living.

In Susan Bates Learn to Crochet book there is a pattern but it is veeeerrry
primitive, all made of squares for the beginner. Unless you want square body
and square head I don't think you'd like it......but since it is the only
giraffe pattern I know I thought I would tell you about it :^)

If you look around at the www.fastandfuncrochet.com website for awhile, you should be able to find the photo that goes with the pattern.  I remembered seeing the giraffe yesterday, but could only find the pattern today.
