I can't see half of the posts - they're not coming through on my OE... grrr.
I had to check on Google to make sure my original post on the needle felting
came through.

Anyhow, here's a link to the pic of the two needle felted bears I've made.
Right now, I feel they're a work in progress and need more done to them. On
one of them you can't see the face very well, so I think I might add some
lighter coloured wool so his/her nose and mouth will show up better.

I can highly recommend this craft as it's barrels of fun, and as Els
mentioned, you don't have to just use wool. Actually, our instructor called
the stuff we used - "roping". I gather it's not as fine as roving - perhaps
it's earlier on in the process. We did get a small piece of white roving
which I used on the eyes, and I think the grey stuff on the chests is
roving, but the main part of the bear is a more coarse product - complete
with tiny bits of straw (grin). As Erica said, it adds to the character of
your bear (smile).

What an impressive collection of needlecrafts! The bears look so sweet. It's
nice to do a short term project every now and then, isn't it?

They're darling. I especially like the use of contrast on the one muzzle. I
agree needle felting is highly addictive!

They're so cute. But what is needle felting?

Hi Shelagh,

Don't feel bad, I'm not seeing all the posts again either. I'm missing about 20
today so will have to check google to see if I can see any of them. The hard
part of that is if the subject is something mentioned earlier or years ago, you
can't tell.

Now, those two bears are so cute, can't wait to hear more about the needle
felting.

Hugs,

Nora

I'd would like to see the Felted Bear Picture, but for the past week or
so the posts on this board have gone south and I've had big problems.

So cute! Are they gifts or are you keeping them for yourself? And for the
record, I did see your original post on needle felting (last week or at
least a couple of days ago).

I noticed the same thing... I just figured the group was quiet. Then, I
noticed I was seeing mostly old message headers -- and the messages didn't
come up when I clicked them - lots of 'no longer on server' warnings.
So, I clicked on Tools==>Options. Selected the Maintenance tab, clicked on
Clean Up Now, and selected Reset.
Viola... I'm seeing messages that were 'missing' before.
Beware! This WILL delete the messages you have on your harddrive and WILL
reset so that headers are downloaded again. Dependfing on your ISP stores
newsgroup messages, you might have less to look at than before.
The number of posts I've been seeing has been degrading for awhile now. I'm
wondering if it correlates in any way to when I installed SP2. Since that
update deals directly with how/when/if files are downloaded to your comp,
perhaps a reset in OE was needed to introduce OE to SP2?

Thanks for the info. Hmmm.... another reason not to d/l SP2. I have heard
of so many problems with it, and besides, I don't need MS's anti-virus, or
spamguard, or the rest of the stuff. I have Norton, Spywareguard and
Ad-Aware, and it all seems to be doing a fine job.

No, it is because AOL is (still) having server problems. Post from AOL are
either not showing up/or very slow across USENET.
