The rough side should be the wrong side, I believe -- but look at both
sides of the fabric carefully, under a magnifying glass if you have to,
and if you still can't tell the difference, just pick which you like
better and be consistent.

I bought some white peachskin fabric to make a long dress. Now that I
am ready to cut out the pattern I can not determine the right/wrong

side. Is it possible to determine the right side by looking at the
sprocket holes on the selvege edge? One side of the holes is very
smooth while the other side is rough...which is the right side??
Thanks in advance for your help.

Peachskin is softer, almost a brushed finish on the right side. The wrong
side is smoother and you can see the weave better. Magnifying glass would
help.

Also, if the right side has a brushed finish, you will probably need to check
to see if it has an "up" and a "down" direction, like most napped fabrics. If
it does, then you will need to be sure to cut out your garment the pattern
pieces all lying in the same direction.

Doesn't matter - if you can't tell the difference, nobody else can either.
Use the side you like best - hold the fabric up in different lights and just
pick one side. Make a chalk mark on the side you decide is the wrong side
so you don't put it together wrong.
