He's going to get held up in the Christmas post if he doesn't go soon!
Fingers are crossed that he gets round safely. It'll be lovely to see
him. :) We'll try to take him somewhere like Dover Castle, Canterbury
Cathedral, or some other known landmark as well as here at home! :)

Kate -- I just realized that I DO NOT have your snail mail addy!!!
HMM -- I also just realized that you are in the directory :-) -- got
your addy on the list now.
For everyone -- I had said that I would send GB to Annette in NZ. I
have since remembered that Di in OZ is going to try and take him to the
local school and that has to be done before they close for the holiday
in mid-December! So -- I will be sending GB to Di and she can send him
to Annette and she can send him to Joyce in Rep of SoAfrica. Then, the
most "efficient" route would be for him to go to Israel (assuming we get
Mirjam's snail mail) then Claudia in Spain, Kate in the UK, Bruce in the
Orkney Islands, Roberta in Germany, Lena (the cousin) in Sweden, Meg in
Uruguay, Sheena in Nova Scotia, Dawne in Saskatchewan, Cheryl in NH,
Susan in MD, Lucille in FL, Gillian in FL, Gen in OH, Olwyn Mary in LA,
and finally my DSis Betsy in TX.
FYI, Meg in Uruguay has a special USA mail address. She says it
only takes a few days for her to get her mail and for return mail to get
back to the States. I'm going to leave it up to everyone this side of
the pond to determine where GB should go next. If the time is getting
close to his requested return arrival date of early May, then some of
the volunteer hosts will have to be left out. Everyone has been so
generous to offer to host GB that I would *really* like all of you to be
involved. Thanks again & I will post when I have gotten him in the mail
to Di in OZ. CiaoMeow >^;;^<

I need to remind everyone that Raechel's GeoBear isn't the only one
being sent out into the big wide world. I'm not sure how many kids are
sending out GeoBear's. The best I can do, as far as thank yous are
concerned, is to make sure that the SMDGD is involved in thanking all of
those involved. In this day & age, the thank yous will probably be
electronic unless R decides she is up to actually writing some out by
hand. She is only in First Grade and her writing skills are not all
that good just yet :-).
You're not sounding snarly, Polly and learning to say thank you IS
important. But, I am the one who is responsible for asking RCTN & RCTQ
people for help so it is mostly up to me to thank those involved. Also,
I didn't force anyone to offer to host GB and I'm not such a "big name"
here that those who volunteered would get any sort of thrill by being
involved in a project of *mine*. That being said, R would be absolutely
thrilled if I helped her to send a proper thank you electronically to
both newsgroups AND personally to those involved -- assuming I can get
her 6 year old body to sit still for that long :-)! CiaoMeow >^;;^<

Noted. :)

I thought about that and if I have time, I will try to get them all
listed and included with the snail mail addies. Basically, I had
thought we could just use both newsgroups (RCTN & RCTQ) to post updates
or request an e-mail from someone specific. If it's easier for hosts to
e-mail me, then I can make sure any updates are posted to both groups.
Seems that a lot of folks who are not hosting are reading the GeoBear
threads and would like to hear about his travels, too :-). CiaoMeow >^;;^<

GeoBear is due back to Lizard Land in early May. Raechel's b-day is
May 10 and we will be out there at that time. I had already decided
that she and I would sit down and post a thank you to both groups at
that time. Unfortunately, we will have to do this using Google -- not
fun but do-able.
Now let's just say a bitty prayer that GB has enough time to travel
to all the different countries and hosts and then back home on time!!
