Did anyone happen to see the Simply Quilts episode about impressionism quilts?
It was absolutely beautiful. One of the guests had done a piano covered in
flowers, and another had a mountain scene with trees in the foreground.

Now, get this... I've never made a quilt in my life. Haven't got a clue
about stitching, etc. However, I have taught myself to sew, design historical
gowns, make dolls, crochet, knit, cross-stitch, paint and stencil. So why not
quilting? Like I need another hobby...

Anyway, the point here is that I can't remember the name of the book that was
featured on that episode. Anyone? And just how badly am I setting myself up
for disappointment by starting with this particular style?

(PS I also plan to dye all the fabric myself. Another first.)

The name of the book is " Watercolor Quilts" written by Pat Maixner Magaret
& Donna Ingram Slusser. Publisher is That Patchwork Place which no doubt
has a website if you do a search. There are other books out by these same
authors. I made a couple of these quilts and found them to be simple and
lots of fun. They look great too. So go for it and welcome to the
wonderful, wacky world of quilting.
