Reading all your notes I wonder what " OT" means...
Greatings from good old Germany,
Dorothy
OT means Off Topic. Some people want to read only quilting messages so
OT makes it easy for them to ignore non-quilting messages.

In most other newsgroups OT means "on topic" - here it means "Off Topic"
leasts that's the way I've always thought. What are you working on at the
moment quilt wise? Tell us about yourself and your family. BTW you speak
English real good. BTW also I loved my time in Germany way back in 1988 -
spent New Years Eve 1989 in a small Armenian restaurant in West Berlin -
superb. Where in Germany are you?

Welcome to the group! My husband's family was from Germany. Our last
name is Hirt. I am going to put a huge list of quilting Web sites on
the newsgroup in a minute, but I'll put it here so you'll be sure to
get it, too.
What kind of quilts to you make? Do you hand piece or machine? I
usually machine piece and machine quilt, as I don't have a lot of time
to do it by hand. I like new twists on old ideas or patterns. I love
to embellish my quilts with about anything I can find!
Do you work outside of the home? I teach quilting, lecture, and do
the Web sites and newsletters for several organizations.
Professionally, I am a Web designer and do desktop publishing
(newsletters, brochures, etc.)
Something my friend and I did was flower pounding. You take a leaf or
flower and lay it on a piece of muslin, put a paper towel on top and
pound it with a hammer! She made a quilt out of leaves for a friend
of hers who has a nature center.
Hope you enjoy the group!
Lee

Pat wasn't feeling like herself today and she forgot to ask you about
chocolate! What is your favorite kind of chocolate?
I had a KinderEgg while I was in Germany, but preferred the coffee and cake.
Welcome to the group!

But by now, you should know I'll want to know WHERE in Germany, so I can "pin"
you on my map!
Again, welcome, and do come on in and "set a spell" (speaking of silly :-) )

Nice of you to think of my Chocolate Requirements, but
I deliberately left out mention of same. My official
status here in cyber quilt land has changed. I am now
Official Chocolate Taster for RCTQ EMERITUS!!! So, the
'active' position is up for grabs, in case you are
interested. I must point out that I was NOT fired!!
This action is entirely voluntary. One: I've held the
position for about a year and believe it is time for
someone else to have the responsibility. Two: I am too
busy altering waist lines to fulfill the duties of
OCT/RCTQ!! So, I do hope the members of RCTQ will
accept this letter of resignation and allow me to
assume the Emeritus title. It has been a pleasure to
have served. Thank you.
Yours in chocolate, PAT

OT means "off topic." In other words, it's a post about something not
related to the newsgroup's main focus, which in this newsgroup is quilting.
Lots of people do it when they get a thread going about personal stuff,
recipes, etc. That way, the people who want to read only about quilting can
just skip over those posts.
