To Carolyn in Texas,
Thanks for the welcome!
I too just love scrap quilts.I cant believe how my taste in colors has
changed since my first multi blue log cabin quilt.
Ours is a 3 generation hobby enjoyed by my daughter who is a maker of
what you might call artsy quilts, myself and my mother.

I, too, just found this group. I have been a quilter for about 4-5 years now.
I find that I get into the quilting mode and then it is like an addiction
until I finish the quilt. I started a watercolor quilt for a friends wedding
this spring and have had a hard time getting motivated. Summer is a hard time
to quilt because I would rather be outside with my kids. So, now that the
weather is getting colder, I hope to finish it by Christmas.

Glad to have found the group.

Welcome, Kathy! I've just pulled out part of my Very First Project (a
3-piece deal consisting of 2 quilts and a wall-hanging, all inter-related)
and have been doing the hand quilting on it for the very same reason--it's
starting to get cool enough to make it a pleasant way to listen to TV in
the evenings. Lots of people in this group will agree--Summer is for
piecing, cool weather is for quilting!
I've been a quilter since 1993 (I just took a look at the label on my
VFP--says I made the quilt from 1993-1996. Oops. A *little*
over-optimistic!) and really like patchwork/scrap quilts. I've never tried
a watercolor, but certainly admire the way they look!
From whence do you hail? Feel free to pop in any time with comments, tips,
opinions, and questions. This is a fun group to be involved with.
