This grandmother of the bride needs to take myself to the veil and do some
pearling. I need quickly, however, to mention to Zimmy: (1) welcome and
(2) maybe your beginning with triangles puzzle is simply how they are
pictured in patterns.
All too often, an illustration will show a point of a triangle all the
way at the cut edge - when, in reality, it must float to still have a point
when stitched to the next piece.
Some one else can explain this better - but what I have in mind, for
example - is a flying geese sort of triangle.
The books and magazines usually show the piece as pointed. Confused me
just no end when I was trying to figure out 'how does that work?'. Not just
confused; also frustrated and pretty close to having a hissy fit. Polly

Polly, I am with you on the hissy fit, but what can I say. I think I
mislead
some on this board, I have not attempted triangles, still have issues
with a
9 patch. I see quilts in quiltshops that are not perfect, seams are
off, quilting is
down right ugly, etc. Maybe I am a bit too hard on myself, I expect
perfection, or
something similar to.

Well, Zimmy, you have the cure correct - even if the problems haven't
quite arisen yet!
