Hello all! I'd like to let you all know that the June exchange was totally
sucessfull - last time I checked only one person that I knew of was worried
about not getting all their fabric in! I've already started cutting up my
June swatches for a watercolor quilt and making plans for another quilt too!
(Oh no! More UFO's to put in the pile... My DH will go nuts!)

July has been kicked off with packets starting to be mailed out on the 11th
of this month! So far we've been really lucky and groups have rounded out
so that only 1 group each month has had only 9 people in it. Hopefully
anyone who was in a 9 person group in June didn't get put in one in July!
(If you were - let me know, and I'll try and make sure your name gets moved
around in my database so that you get in a bigger group next month!)

Statistics for the exchanges:
Last Month: June This Month: July (x-mas fabrics)
# People: 47 # People: 62
# of Groups: 5 # of Groups: 7
Avg # ppl per grp: 10 Avg # ppl per grp: 10

For those of you asking "What is she talking about?!?" here's the info...
Signups for August on going on now! I also haven't decided on a theme
for September - so if you've got a great idea, post here or let me know by
email (nancy_...@ccm.ch.intel.com)

AUGUST EXCHANGE THEME: Watercolor fabrics
This exchange is to help out all of us who want to get going on a water
color quilt or just need some more large print fabric to play with.
Basically we are looking for large colorful floral, paisley type prints
that are bright. If you want to see some examples of what a 'watercolor'
print would be go to your fav quilt store and look in the book "Watercolor
Quilts" by Pat Magaret & Donna Slusser. They give some examples of good
watercolor prints, and non-suitable prints.

SIGNUP DEADLINE: MIDNIGHT MST AUG 1, 1995
LISTS SENT TO PARTICIPANTS: AUG 5, 1995
FABRIC MAILING DEADLINE: AUG 10 - AUG 25, 1995
****************************************************************************

Have you ever wanted to do a scrap quilt, but just don't
have the scraps around to do it with? Have you wanted to
have a wide variety of fabrics to help you plan and play
when designing a quilt? Well THIS is your opportunity!

Unlike a block exchange, a fabric exchange is much simpler - you just find
neat fabric that falls within the month's theme requirement, wash, iron
and cut into 8" squares, then mail it out, and wait for the squares to
start rolling into your mailbox!

Each participant will be required to mail out to each of the other members
in their group:

8 different 8" by 8" squares

Each group will have approx 10 members in it, which means that assuming 45"
wide fabric you'll need to buy ~ 1/2 yard of 8 different fabric types to
make TEN 8" squares (1 for each person on your distribution list and one
for yourself) for a total of 4 yards of fabric.

All fabrics should be good quality 100% cotton, prewashed and ironed.
When mailing the fabric, please put it in a plastic bag or plastic
wrap to protect along the way.

Each month we'll have a theme to the exchange, whether it be large floral
prints, blue prints, abstract prints, calicos, red fabrics, etc.

****************************************************************************
