Today I went into Style Fabrics....first time in a very long time. I
noticed they had Happy Birthday fabric...it was adorable.....I would of
loved to bought the entire roll and cut it into FQs and send them on
birthdays.. They also had fabric with crayons on it....tell me somebody who
doesn't inhale the fresh smell of a 64 box of Crayola Crayons??? I am
waiting for Yankee Candle to come out with that scent next.....my house will
smell like pre-school...oh well enough of my sense of humor....
Hugs,
Pami

One of the advantages of having grandchildren is that people think you have
the Crayola Crayons around the house for them. Little do they know.......

Ok, confession. I went and bought a box of Crayons just for ME and they
smelled just divine!!! I tried the crayon colouring on muslin squares, kinda
actually like it too.

~KK in BC~ who now must go sniff her crayons.

Some of my stash may include things that I will never need, but I always
keep ready a box of Crayola and a box of colored chalk. If you want to come
play at my house, the good stuff is always ready. Yes. I love the scent
too. Takes me back to some good times. We had skirts made of mattress
ticking. Mama let us draw and color on the fabric before she cut them out
so they would hang in perfect circles. A precious memory. Thank you, Pami.

Same here! I bought James a big set of drawing pencils: contains
drawing pencils in various softnesses, charcoal pencils, water colour
pencils, ordinary colouring pencils, and metallic colouring pencils - 12
of each. I bought a duplicate set for me! :) He is also forbidden on
pain of very painful things to touch my metallic gel pens, except under
very strict supervision from me.

I have a goodly supply of artists brushes, drawing boards, paper,
pastels, rubber erasers, and other arty stuff from when I was teaching
this sort of thing. If kids wanna draw, we have the stuff. I did pass
all the wax crayons and the powder paint and the baby easel on to school
when he grew out of them, but it looks like a supply of acrylic liquid
paint might have to move in for scenery painting for Warhammer...

I use my stuff mainly for concept and style drawings for costumes these
days...

James takes his pencil set to art classes at school. I was really
pleased for him when he got a top mark and an A for effort for his first
art homework. Especially as he's basically a science oriented kid. :)

ohh my kids have a set like that at ex's - I am waiting for the day when it
comes back on sale at Lidl LOL.
I too have my good stuff - for me only. then there is my hoarded supply of
Berol school paints I am *very* stingy about using them - I won't ever be
able to replace them

when I'm not designing in EQ I'm using that to design my quilts with - a
nice way of letting my mind go free without having to wonder how to get what
I want done without the computer telling me that the block is complicated
and may take a long time to save (that is *if* it saves at all :-( )

well done on James A!

I have some of the crayon fabric - I used it when I was making "A horse of a
Different Color" quilt.
The one class trip I'll always remember was the tour of the Crayola crayon
factory. I volunteered as class mom when my DD third grade class took the
tour. The smell was like a gigantic box of crayons! We actually got to
watch crayons being made.

confession ...one of the boxes my chemo angel sent me was themed Princess
and it has all the goodies....the crown which I decorated with the goodies
sent....oh course my 21 year old son caught me and thought I was going back
in time....but I had fun and even tried it on. I am saving it for my
grandchildren someday. My chemo angel has fun assembling them.

I used up all my crayon fabric on the insides of the schoolbags I made
for my friends who teach a couple of weeks ago. Went back to not so LQS
and bought 5 yards because I liked it soo much and didn't want to run
out again too soon. I also have kept a huge box of crayola's from when
the kids were little (they're 26 and 23) under my desk in case someone
wants to use them again :)

pami, so nice to see you're feeling well enough to go shopping. And yes,
love that crayon smell. It's one of those instant "time travel" smells -
takes you waaay back
