Thank You ALL, that have replied to my first ever post.
I'm new not only to this newsgroup but to quilting techniques as well.
We in Lithuania /there is such country formerly occupied by communist
Russia, but free again/ are just starting to find out how fascinating
quilting is. Actually, the Balts have quite deep traditions in
textiles starting from 2000 BC. And it's different, because we weren't
nomads, as our neighbors Skits, Slavs. So quilting is something
"unknown" in that sense.
There are only few enthusiasts like me, which trying to make it more
known to local public, by showing some of our quilts in small local
exhibitions or writing articles in local mags.
The nearest exhibition will take place in April, Kaunas - my home
city. I'm planing to take part with my recent works. One of it is kind
of my experiment - synthesis of old Lithuanian folk dress and American
quilting techniques.
I'm very interesting to see some works of modern professional quilting
artist, where modern ART and pattern is most important and innovation
too. But I'm completely lost in surfing. We charged per minute being
on line, so it's still too expensive for us surfing without
addresses.
Can You please send me some links about modern art in quilting.
Thank You.

Does your website have photos of your quilts? They sound absolutely wonderful!
Cheers,

Welcome, Jurgita! I'm the one with the atlas -- If I put a "pin" in my
atlas in Kaunas, will I have put a pin in the right place, for you?
(well, DUH -- I just read your sig-line -- I got it right) I'm not a
professional quilter, and not an art-quilter, but I'm pleased to see
that a Lithuanian has joined us.
Now, y'all come on back and set a spell with us, y'hear?
Happy Trails,
