Hullo Everyone
This is a festive fortnight and no mistake!
We had Helen and Ian's wedding last week, a somewhat longer anniversary
in the middle; and this coming week we have a Diamond Wedding to
celebrate.

On Thursday 4 October, it is Rhoda Wicker and her DH's sixtieth wedding
anniversary. This is something to shout about and PARTY!

So, I would like to invite you all to a gigantic cyber party, for this
great occasion. Many people have said in the past that they like to
spread their birthday festivities over a week, so this is what we will
do (well, nearly!).

I hope that all the children and babies that we feel we know on the
newsgroup will bring their parents and, those who can walk, provide some
Happy Dances.
Any adults who can manage Happy Dances will be encouraged to do so. I
hope Wanda and Dreamweaver will feel inspired to invent a new whirly
dance in their chariots (and anyone else who uses one!).

This will be a 'best bib and tucker' event, and tiaras (diamond of
course) will be worn by the ladies + any other diamonds you can muster -
the more the better: good taste is not an issue here, glittering IS!
We trust that our gentlemen will complement the ladies and reach
previously undiscovered heights of sartorial elegance.

Catering will be by ourselves: please bring your favourite savoury and
dessert.
I will be bringing a bacon and egg pie with a summer fruit pavlova
(light on cream, heavy on fruit!).

All you have to do to be at the party is post a greeting and let us all
know how you will be bejewelled and what food you will bring.
Please gentlemen, can you bring the wine? there will be a case of
champagne on ice, but I fear it will not be enough.
I really hope the party will be graced by several Queens and other
important people.

Musicians - can you please state you instrument on your reply? so we
know what size gallery to set aside for the orchestra. You can decide
on your own conductor when you arrive <g>.

Hope I've covered everything.

This is going to be a really wonderful time for all of us I hope,
especially Rhoda and her DH.

Now, I've always wanted to say this!!:

BE THERE OR BE SQUARE!

Best of wishes to you all,
Pat (Patti)

I don't have any children or grandchildren to drag me but, I will fire up my
motorhome and pick up all the other orphan people along the way. Just stand
by the road. I will know you are there to be picked up cause you will be in
your Sunday going best garb. We will party on the way to the Diamond
celebration so by the time we get there we will be raring to go.

Hooray for Rhoda and DH! Married almost twice as long as I am - astonishing!
I will bring Lebkuchen (special sort of divine gingerbread), which is just
coming into season. Oh, and a savory too? We have to eat veggies? Well, all
right, how about a poached salmon with lemon-dill butter, white asparagus
and baby peas.

Jools -well, I saw a great denim jacket with a zipper up the front made of
flat "diamonds" and a mink collar. That would look pretty cool with my royal
scrap tiara.

Barney has graciously agreed to provide entertainment for the grand gala
event. He sings. And he sings. When his mommy- me- says "sing" he
tips back his head and lets it rip. And he doesn't stop until we *beg*
him to stop.

Barney is a handsome 100 lb. Golden Retriever/Old English Sheepdog

Lady Tia of Yorkshire shall arrive newly coiffed wearing her diamond harness
and diamond encrusted bow in her locks. She would be happy to accompany
Barney (Leslie's furbaby) with her wigglebutt dance for everyone's
amusement!

I shall bedazzle one and all in my diamond encrusted charriot whilst' my
ethereal self shall be dancing through the air as is wont of the Sec. of All
Things Ethereal, and am sure to be accompanied by the Ghost Sisters! I
shall float through the air and delicately release rose petals to float
gently onto the celebrants (all petals of course supplied by the Queen of
Roses, Butterfly-She of the Gossamer Wings.) I will call upon all Fairies
and Devas of the Plant Kingdoms to assist in preparing an evening of
mystical proportions. An evening in the heart of a deep magical forest on
the shores of a forgotten lake (forgotten by some, not all). The Fireflies
(Lightning Bugs) have agreed to provide our light and Grandmother Moon will
smile in all her wonder and fullness as well. All the Winged ones will
dance through the air, creating a gentle breeze for everyone's comfort,
those gifted with song agree to serenade as well as the crickets and frogs.
Grandmother Moon will provide celebratory sparklers via her reflection on
the water's reflective surface. All the creatures of the forest:
Two-Leggeds, Four-Legged, Winged-Ones, Creep-crawlers - one and all shall
present themselves in a ring of honor around the celebration (and of course
join in the festivities as is their wont from time to time!).

We shall honor our couple with reverie and merriment and joy (and I'm sure
not a little mischief - whose bringing the mead?). It shall be a time to
remember.
--
Whoohoo!
Dreamweaver-and to mix metaphors: I'll bring the Lutefisk and Lefse and
maybe some Walleye Pike. Poping Wheelies of Joy!!!! IT'S A CELELBRATION!!!

My children and grandchildren don't quilt and therefore won't be
bringing me. However, my QI Tuppence also loves to sing. Can she bring
me? Then she might be persuaded to sing a duet with Barney -- especially
if it's an Italian aria. She may be an American cocker, but she *loves*
Italian arias! <g> And my other QI, Dexter, will have to come, too --
he's Tuppence's bodyguard and general manager.

Let's see -- I'll bring my yummy shortbread (guaranteed to add 73 pounds
to the hips in no time flat). Do I need to bring something *not* sweet
too?

Well Sandy I'll help you out<G>. You bring twice as much shortbread and
I'll bring twice as much meatballs and pasta (it being the only dish I
can reliably cook for company).

I shall be brought by my sisters twins Lucy and Marcus, who though not
crawling can certainly dance while sat down, and perhaps their 6 year
old sister Em if she deigns to grace us with her company<G>

I shall be wearing my pearls and arrive by one of my helicopters if I
can get one of the boys at work to bring me.

Salutations and congratulations from 'Erbert end myself.!!!

Notification has been givun to the stable boy and coachman, to arrange for
the coach and four to be gilded and gelded as is required.
The servants are at this moment in time, pressing the purple velvet plus
fours 'Erbert so enjoys wearing, along with his gold cravat and black moire
silk frock coat. ( One does have ones standards to keep up when attending a
DIAMOND function). He has managed to redeem the pledge on the fambly jewels
apart from the sashes but I doubt anyone will notice the ribbons that used
to decorate the chocolate boxes.

My maid, (who does not have the bowing and scrapping off pat unlike me last
maid, Krysia) has taken the triple tier diamond tiara along to H.Samuels for
a quick spit and polish, and my own dress of mauve sateen trimmed with lemon
diamante spangled tulle over layers of freshwater pearls trimming the hem
and sleeves, is being adjusted hon haccount of the loss of weight and the
tightening of the purse strings since the Weekend Gardener started the
Orchid House.

'Arrods will be delivering a hamper filled with Scotch Salmon ( it's the one
in the tartan packet if yer gets confused), pomme frits and petite pois....
(or Fish Chips and Peas for the uncooth hamongst you).

'Is Lordship and I do request a saloon to repair to from our soujourn in the
coach, it still has only 3 wheels on it despite us asking Kwik Fit to sort
it out.

A bottle of chilled Newcastle Brown is requested to be set forth on a
silvered tray, and please, should anyone dance the quadrille with may
'usband, will they make sure that I can see 'Erberts 'ands at all times.

Should we not arrive in time, would you please pass on the following toast
to the happy couple.
May the diamonds you found together over the years, keep sparkling for
evermore!

Sincerely, RHLord'Erbert and Lady Constance D

Greetings one and all!! I am happy to report that most of the party
contingent is out of the New Zealand pokey and as we are already in our
best bib and tuckers we will just have John wheel the big party plane
right on over. I am not going home in between so we will just taxi up
to some big malls and raid food emporiums. I'm heading to Marshall
Fields in Oakbrook for some of their lucious baked pears stuffed with
procuitto (sp) ham and garganzola. Happy anniversary Wickers!! (do you
hav lawyers on retainer or should we bring our own?) Practicing the NZ

RHLady CD presents me with a delimma. For years I have tried to get her
to stop messing with the servants and stableboys but I really think that
gelding is just a bit too much, don't you? I mean even stableboys have
rights you know. Off with his head--eh--maybe, but off with the jewels
when we are celebrating someones diamond---doesn't seem fair somehow.

Lord 'Erbert has offered to teach some of the laydies a little dance he

I will join in the celebration and in honor of the grand occassion I shall
bring with me the entire contents of my local Godiva chocolate shop, these
being a tribute from the fairie folk of Luxembourg.

As I shall be passing through the Champagne region on my long journey I
would be plain silly not to fill up the plane with as much of the local
produce as we can carry. I say we as I will be accompanied by my son Faron
who will happily sing and dance the whole week long.

A 60th wedding anniversary deserves Godiva chocs, champagne and my bright
scarlet lace dress. This has only had one previous outing and has been put
aside for such a grand event.

Congratulations to you both.

Please convey our congratulations and good wishes to

We shall direct the Royal Kitchens to assemble a
