I like to use clear plastic film containers for storing beads. Easy
to see and a tight lid.

Which brand of film has the clear containers?

I like to use an item called "stamps n things" from tupperware. They
come in a translucent white color and have 2 compartments. Their just
great.

Actually, several. Around here, CVS (pharmacy/discount store chain;
not sure if they have it up where you are, but it' like Rite Aid) film
comes in clear plastic containers. I think (but not sure) Fuji also
comes in a clear plastic container.

The other bead storage container I was thinking of is one of these
gizmos they sell at drug stores to help remind people to take their
medicines. It's a plastic gizmo with seven different compartments, one
for each day of the week, and you put the medicine you're supposed to
take each day in each of the compartments; that's supposed to help
remind you to take ot. Though i'm not sure why; if you forget that
you have to take medicine, it stands to reason you're not going to
check this device to see if you've taken it or not. Anyway, with
seven compartments it would seem this would allow you to separate out
different colors or beads effectively.

Regards,

Joe

Konica does for sure! I store my beads in these, too. Also, a spool of
Kreinik filament or braid fits perfectly in the ones with the convex tops
. I have spares (30 or so) so if anyone would like some to try, send me
your snail address and I'll send some off to you. And, there's plenty
more where these came from (my dad owns a photo / photofinishing store)
except they are in a different province (B.C.) so shouldn't be a problem
to stock back up!

A lot of generic (store brand) film has clear containers. Target, for
sure. I don't know about any others, but I believe KMart also.

Film made by 3M comes in clear containers. Look for it in the store brands of film:
K-Mart's "Focal" Brand is one, also Wal-Mart and Target carry 3M film under their
own brand names. FWIW.

If you're looking for plastic 35mm film containers, go to anywhere
that does a lot of film developing - drugstores, camera shops, etc.,
especially a place with a lab on the premises, like a one-hour
developing shop - and ask if they have any they'd like to give away,
and tell them you need the clear ones. Odds are they have large
quantities of them and will be glad to recycle them to you!

In my opinion, tiny ziplock bags are much superior for storing beads -
I have a huge collection to keep organized. Film cans would work well
if you didn't have too many different kinds. - Judy Walker
