Hi, All!! My husband and I are planning a trip to the Finger Lakes on
Labor Day Weekend. This is our bi-annual trip to the Wine Trails of Seneca
and Cayuga Lakes. Love those wineries. I'm trying to find any LNS in the
area of those two lakes. I know there is one in Canandaigua, but that's too
far out of the way to get my DH to take me to.

Any help??

Thanks, Michele

Sorry I can't help with an LNS (Rosemary, is there anything convenient?) but
please, if you can, eat a slice of grape pie for me, huh? They don't sell grape
pie at the roadside here in Kansas. :-(

Hey, Karen, If I find any Grape pie, I'll try a piece. I go for the wine
jelly myself.

I lived in Ithaca for 4 years (actually Newfield) at base of Cayuga. There's
a great shop in Vestal??, surely there's someone out there who knows which
one I'm talking about. I think it's called "Stitchery Row". I never managed
to find another one nearer to Ithaca.

I can recommend the buffet at Castle Gritsch (near Watkins Glen) Winery.
Also the sweet rolls at Green Mountain Grocery (Watkins Glen) are fabulous,
if you eat one of these, think of my husband.

Enjoy your trip,
Susan

According to Barb's cross Stitch Road Trip book, Stitchery Row has an
address at 138 Washington Ave, Endicott, NY, email address
stitchro@spectra,.net and website,
www.needlearts.com/stitchery_row/index.html. There is also the Golden
Unicorn in Corning,
Hope this helps. It is an invaluable little book when traveling!

Stitchery Row is a wonderful shop! Their collection of fibers is staggering. I
was only able to visit once during my sojourn in western New York, but I envied
rctn's Isabel for her ability to stop in on a whim. It's also where I first
encountered Caron's Impressions (50% wool and 50% silk). I have yet to feel
anything so beautifully soft. I have occasionally thought that it's the stuff
of angel's wings.

I tried to go to the site as typed by Gill with no success. So, I
backtracked to just the <www.needlearts.com> and found Stitchery Row --
my server was being fussy about capitals, so perhaps yours will as
well. Try http://www.needlearts.com/Stitchery_Row/index.htm (only
difference from what Gill wrote was the capitalized S and R!

Stitchery Row is in Endicott NY. It's about an hour from Ithaca, but the
trip is typically well worth it just for the scenery. And the owner is a
sweetheart. I live in Binghamton, so I spend a lot of time and money there.

No affiliation, just a very satisfied customer.

Hi, Isabel Is this shop anywhere near the Seneca Lake Wine Trail.?
Hopefully, if it is I can get my DH to take me there. Or I can leave him in
Watkins Glen and go by myself.

Thanks

Michele

Stitchery Row is definitely worth a stop for any needleworker. Nancy has a
wonderful selection of threads. She also has both cross stitch and needlepoint
patterns.
Not affliated in any way except as a customer.
I believe Golden Unicorn in Corning has closed, but I may be wrong.
