What is an addy? I have never heard the term before.

And you should be glad IMHO!. Addy is a corruption of address. The proper
term is URL.
When he recent grammar rant was going on, I wanted to post "addy" as one of
the words/terms that grate on my nerves! It drives me up a wall! (No
offence intended Joy)
