I hope someone who's done some of Sharon Cohen's exquisite! Nostalgic
Needle offerings can help me.

I went to the Wyndham site at http://www.WyndhamNeedleworks.com/ (for
the benefit of those who *haven't* seen this place), and my jaw dropped
at the absolutely beautiful designs available by Nostalgic Needle, among
others. I've never heard of Nostalgic Needle until today, and they look
like just the kind of samplers that float my boat.

My question is: Are these kits or charts?
Some of the samplers have a $25 price tag, but I could not get any other
information about the designs as to whether it was a kit prize or a
book, or what. (Wish Wyndham was more detailed.) Twenty-five bucks seems
a bit pricey for a chart!

Can someone fill me in on justifying the price?

I have done a bunch of her projects, and taken classes from Sharon
Cohen. She is a terrific teacher. Her designs tend to be very
challenging, and needless to say exquisite. In my opinion the charts,
though expensive, are worth it. They have very good instructions and
diagrams. I can't wait to take antoher class from her!

Suzanne,

Yes, the Nostalgic Needle (Sharon Cohen) has some beautiful charts, some of
the most beautiful I have ever seen. And yes they are expensive. However,
they are spiral bound books with absolutely detailed instructions in them.
I have not gotten up the nerve to do one yet, but I have several in my
stash. I thought they were pricey too, but I guess when you go into that
much detail as to how to do the stitches and it takes that many pages to
get the instructions across, maybe they are worth it.

I've been working on one of SC's samplers for over a year now. It used a
lot of silk, so $25 did not cover materials! Her "charts" are actually
bound booklets of instructions, quite detailed and clear. Her designs are
wonderful, IMHO.

I know I'm new around here, but isn't it a "rule" that you have to spill
your guts on RCTN about your purchases, so we can *all* vicariously
enjoy the thrill of new stuff? ;D

Fess up, Diane in Texas, which designs stole your heart?

I really try not to be jealous.... but this spending spree has me
envious, Diane! You'll have to let us know which one you decide to
tackle first -- or do you already know? ;D

Time to fess up again? Okay, well my "true" project is The Piece Hall
Sampler by Moira Blackburn, but my little project is the Queen's Sweet Bag
from Sharon Cohen. I haven't spent alot of time on it as yet, just got the
charts on Wednesday and it's done on 32 count over one, but it's gonna be
"sweet" when I get it done. BTW, does anybody know of a good finisher they
want to throw some business to? I'm not of a seamtress and I'll need to
pay someone to finish the bag for me. Also, after reading over the charts
that were also printed in JCS the instructions are way more involved in the
charts you purchase than the ones printed in the magazine. Diane
