I got home yesterday to find a catalog of Marilyn's designs waiting for me.
Inside, I also discovered the Christmas angels. Being in New Zealand, I had
never expected to ever see these, so I was delighted. It really made my day.
Thanks, Marilyn.

Mine arrived day before yesterday too. I was so pleased with them. I had didn't expect them
to arrive so quickly either. It was the first time I had seen any angels up close so it was
wonderful to be able to see them properly.

Thank you Marilyn.

And I would also like to add my thanks to MLI for sending the free
Christmas Angels! They are indeed beautiful. I intend to stitch one
of these using 50 ct silk gauze on my crystal jar that has a
cross-stitch top.

Thank you again Marilyn!!!

Helen

PS - L*L, TIAG, and Butternut Road are some of my most favorite
patterns. Thank you again Marilyn for your wonderful designs!

I second that, Kerry! I had a horrible day at work yesterday, but when
I got home, Marilyn's catalogue and patterns were waiting for me. What
a thrill to actually see all the patterns that people on this NG have
been talking about. When can I start? :D

I am new to this newsgroup and missed the posting on how to get
Marilyn's catalog. I love her work and would love to have her catalog.
Could someone please let me know the particulars?

Thanks!

My trick -- I make a lot for my friends-- Is to make two bibs of identical
size. Stitch both and then sew them together (by machine at the edge of
the piping) wrong sides together. You only get one bib, but it's
reversible and all the nasty stuff is inside nicely hidden. My friends
like them 'cause they say they launder two bibs in the space of one.
Just my 2 cents.

THANK YOU MARILYN!

I also received my angel patterns and now I'm so excited to try them! My
mother collects angels and I'll probably do two or three of them for her
for Christmas! Thank you so much for the patterns!

I, too, would like to thank Marilyn for her lovely Angels.
We are so lucky to have someone so generous, and such a
wonderful designer, with us. She thinks of all of us, including
downunder in Australia.

Thanks again Marilyn.

" Marilyn, give those elves some chocolate!"

I gave them a picnic with 6 pounds of lobster and acres of tenderloin,
then I made my "famous" baked beans and they all floated away!?!?!?!

Heartfelt thanks from me, too. Now I *have* to get all the angels done in
time for Christmas, and I've already picked out the catalog projects I
want to do, too!

About the "movie" on your Web page--we know that you are a beautiful
person, Marilyn, because we can see it in your designs. But
"perfect"--how chilly that sounds! A "perfect" person could never have
understood--let alone designed--an Angel of Mercy.

Come to think of it, if there were actually a perfect person, would you want
to know her? I think she'd depress the daylights out of me.

Thaks again for your imagination and your kindness.

Thank you, Marilyn, for the angels and the catalog. It was through
reading this newsgroup that I became familiar with just how many designs
you are responsible for. I had only known of a handful. I now have more
than a handful marked in that catalog for future purchase.
Time to delurk since I've been reading this ng for three months now!
I started to cross-stitch when I was looking for a needlepoint stocking
kit and came out of the store with a cross-stitch kit of an owl. I
bought it as a Christmas gift from my mother. Right after Christmas, I
started right in and was possessed. I was about 23 then. Now I'm 40 and
starting back in with a passion after laying off for about ten years
while my children were younger. The piece that started me in again was a
CC&CC stocking pattern for my daughter (the little girl's bedroom with
the baptismal gown in the closet). It was my first linen piece and first
major project. It's been 2 years and still not finished. Mostly because
I keep doing other projects in between! And now I'm ready to dive into
Marilyn's designs! (My daughter is only 8, I should get that stocking to
her before she leaves the house.)
My renewed stitching enthusiasm has led to a group of three of us
from work (I'm a librarian) meeting once a month for "Stitch and Bitch"
(in front of my children it's "Stitch and Chat"). We're thinking of
franchising and designing a logo and credo. It's such therapy--I mean
the stitching of course. On Tuesday night I will be sharing Marilyn's
catalog with the others. If anyone's ever in Fond du Lac, WI on one of
our stitching nights, we've been thinking about having guest stitchers,
or "chatters".
I love this group. It has made me think I can be creative and not
"just stitch" according to directions. And knowing one has the support
of so many is very freeing. Thanks to all.

Judy

Nah, don't worry about it! As you'll find out from this group, you can
always say that it's for your first grandchild and you're simply pacing
yourself.

my thoughts exactly.....keep that perfect person way far away from me
and if your house looks like BH&G we will undoubtedly remain distant
acquaintances. As George bernard Shaw pointed out in his play St. Joan
nobody really wants to put up with a saint, either.
