Hi everyone,

Shortly my wife will be accompanying me on a business trip to Munich and
she has asked me "to use that internet thingy" to find out if there are
any needlework shops (specialising in cross-stitch) in Munich. And if
so, where they are.

So that is my question.

Many thanks in advance for any information that is forthcoming.

I've been in Munich a couple of times this year. Unfortunately
there aren't good needlework shops there (I've asked before here
at RCTN and had the same answer).

At Marienplatz there is a big store called "BECK am Rathausplatz"
with some supplies. Another little shop is Kolmsperger
Handarbeiten at Oberanger, 9 (also in the center of the city, not
so far from Marienplatz). In one of the Rathaus store there is
also a needlework section, but not so incredible.

I've tried to find also *hardabeiten* on yellow (gold ) gapes, but
all I've found is knitting....

Hope this helps,

Hi Phil & Nikki

I live in Munich and must say, that here are not much needlework shops
to find, but

I can recommend:

1. Ludwig BECK am Rathauseck
(near the townhall)
that is a shop for clothes and accessoires
in one part your can find everything for stitching
(anchor-floss, fabric, books)

2. Kolmsperger Handarbeiten
Oberanger 9 (close to Marienplatz)
in this little shop you can find a variety of fabrics
DMC-floss and books and leaflets (german, swedish, and USA)
and, and, and......

In almost every big shop like KAUFHOF, KARSTADT.... you can find a
"Kurzwarenabteilung". There you can find floss but the most things are
for sewing.

If you didn't find the right things, you can take a look into the
yellow pages (telephone) under "Handarbeitsbedarf"
There are some little shops, but I am not sure what you can find
there. Often you can find only yarn for knitting and crocheting.

Hope this helps

Evelyn
