Hi,

Going to be travelling around the San Diego/Escondido area.

Any recommendations on shops.

There is a place in Escondido called Stitchers Treasures. It is kitty corner
across the street and then up a few stores from Damon & Draper dress shop. Or
is it Draper & Damon. Look them up in the phone book and you will find the
needlework shop. Small, but nice selection. It's the only one I have found in
North San Diego County and I live in Oceanside.

I found that one and another just a block or two up the street from them,
"Tapestry Garden Needlework". My fav fibers place is "Needlepoint of La
Jolla", further south and on the coast. I think there are a few in San
Diego proper, maybe look in the phone book.

Can't remember where in southern California you are. I'm in Lompoc.

YES! The Stitchcraft store in the Clairmont Square shopping center in San
Diego (north San Diego, as I recall) -- 4941 Clairemont Dr # E, San Diego, CA
(619) 272-4003 . It's in the back of the shopping center (the front part has a
movie theater and restaurants, the back has a grocery store, etc. -- go even
further back, to the rear "wall" of shops, and you'll find Stitchcraft). A
beautiful store, with all the latest cross-stitch charts and lots of wonderful
stitched models on the walls -- more Drawn Thread models than I've ever seen
anywhere else.

And isn't there a Needle Nook in La Jolla? Haven't been there yet. It's
either cross-stitch or needlepoint -- can't recall what I heard.

There's a LNS called the Needlecraft Cottage on Grand Ave, about two blocks
before Mission Blvd. Nice selection of fibers and lots of leaflets. They
also have a lot of needlepoint canvases. Beautiful stitched models in the
main room and really friendly staff. And I love Stitchcraft too!
