I'm delurking for the first time. I have learned alot from rctn and have really enjoyed the topics discussed here.
I've noticed some discussion about England cross-stitch shops. I'm going to Scotland in about 5 weeks and would like to know if anyone knows any shops in Aberdeen, where I'm going, or Edinbburg, where I hope tto visit while theree.

Your best bet for finding embroidery shops in the UK is to buy a copy of
New Stitches or any other British embroidery magazine and read the ads.
There is a great shop in Edinburgh called The Embroidery Shop. It is
located at 51 William Street - phone 0131 225 8642. I was last there in
1988, but was impressed with the variety they had.

Christine Riley's embroidery shop in Barclay Street, Stonehaven ( 15 miles
south of Aberdeen is one of Scotland's best. Another good place to try is
"Craftique" in Cults about four miles out of town along the North Deeside
Road.
