I just received an e-mail from the director of the National Counted Cross
Stitch show, to be held in June in Arcola, IL at Rockome Gardens. I hear
it's a great show -- I'm embarrassed to say that I only live about 3 hours
from it and I've never been there, though I've planned to for at least the
last 12 years! Anyway, if you don't know about it, I guess it's one of the
premier xs shows in the country. I know that our own PaulaB has been there
several times (or more??). Thought you all might like the link to the
website for the show.

I REALLY am planning to go this year. Really. That's why I'm posting this --
so I have to!

Lat year they were saying that the brochure would be out by
Christmas...well, that didn't happen! I emailed them last week and
Angie Yoder, who is now the director (yes, they have had yet another
power shift there) said it should be arriving in my mailbox this
week...today is the only mail day left in this week, so we will see.
From the website it didn't look like there were as many classes as
usual. (I heard that Mary vandenBerg is having some diabetes
complications and will not be teaching, but will possibly have a
booth.) I always look forward to going, but when they change
directors you never know quite what to expect. Right now June seems a
looonnnnggggg way off!

There will be another Round robin class - needlework accessories - I'm doing
a scissors fob - so that means there are at least 6 teachers for that.
There are several other different goodies planned for the timeframe so I
think that it will be a good show as usual.
Show books are usually out in mid to end of January - at least when I have
always received them before. Angie has been doing great with following up
with teachers and keeping (at least me) us informed. So I'm confident that
all attending will have a great show as usual.

I received my last Thursday. I hope to be able to sit down and look through it
this weekend.

It looks like fun, I'm going to think about that one, too.

I've also twisted my good friend and booth manager Libby to come along and
teach a Photo to Chart class. I don't like most charts from scanned images
but Libby can make them cleaned up and workable.
And I'll be there with some favorite old projects and new ones as well. I
simply didn't have time to commit to all the CATS shows this year, so
Rockhome or a guild is the only place you'll see me. Hmmm maybe I'll have a
new pair of blackwork sneakers - you never know.
