No, I haven't. It was the first cross stitch book I ever bought, too many
years ago to admit, and at the time, none of the fabrics were available
where I lived. No one did cross stitch--it was all needlepoint and petit
point on silk gauze. But I found the designs so charming, I couldn't
resist the book.
Now I will have to look it out from the darkest depths of my bookshelves
and have another look!

Hi, Barbara, I'll join in here. I think last year you were working on
the banded wall hanging. You made the project sound so interesting
because you kept it as a wip just for your own Christmas-time stitching
pleasure. Are you at it yet???? Cards and gifts all done? (grin)
There is a placemat in that book that has little christmas trees in
reverse and positive images in squares around the edges. I stitched one
of each image on perforated paper and then put them back to back, tieing
(tying?) them together with a border around. Worked up about 2 inches
square @ 27sts on 14 into a cute ornament. The funny part was that a
fellow stitcher thought I'd done it all-in-one somehow! I should be so
clever! Just about any symetrical design ought to work.
Cheers, rene
I have one row around the rug and then on it tomorrow; have to finish the
second half of it .Since my college son can't come for Thanksgiving ( had to
stay in CA over Thanksgiving break with all the kids gone cuz it is expensive
getting out to this Oahu island!!, it will be my special Thanksgiving thing to
keep my mind off of it as it is the first year ever without my children.

Is this the evergreens? That is delightful! I would like to do the 4
panels=Christmas Sheaf, tree, town hall, and town square some time--- also the
hearts as a runner for Valentine's day as there is so little to work with for
that holiday that is that clever...

Oh, sad... sorry you won't have him home with you. But telephones are
wonderful and I hope he can make it for Christmas break. Curiously, I'm
in CA and my daughter is in Aiea. Pretty close to you, yes? She and her
family have been there for three years and are due to return to the
mainland next spring. I'm planning a trip out next Feb. I'll probably
never get to Hawaii after that, but while the rent's free, I'll seize
the day!!!

Yes, the panels are great -- I particularly like the Christmas Sheaf
and Tree. Will you do those in teeny-tiny over 1 on 52 also???? ACK!
Best wishes that your holiday stitching interlude be serene & happy.
Regards, rene
