Please pardon me, I know this has been discussed here, but I need a
refresher. I am working with 3 strands and dont remember how to apply the
loop start method. It is getting bulky in the back with a lot of color
changes and I think i can eliminate some of the fatness by looping 2 of the
three ends. Thanks in advance, gals and guys !!!!!

The way I do it is to cut the thread a bit more than three times as
long as I want it, then make sure one end is long enough to go past
the loop when I hold it up. Then I make sure that end is tucked into
the loop when I start. Although I must admit, I usually just use an
even number of threads to make it easier!

Letty--

Take 1/2 as many strands as required, fold them in half, PLUS 1 extra
strand that's 1" longer than folded strands. Thread needle with loop ends
and the extra strand. Insert needle from back to front of fabric, leaving a
couple of inches of loop and tail at back of fabric. At front, insert
needle to finish 1st part of the cross, then bring needle thru the loop on
the back; pull snug. Continue stitching over tail of the loose end as if it
were a waste knot.

Thanks for the tip, Audrey! I tried it tonight and was successful.
