I just came back from a wonderful trip (Idaho, Utah, Nevada, Arizona,
California, Oregon, Washington). My sweet husband was patient as I
ventured into as many cross-stitch stores as possible!

My favorites (didn't shop in Idaho, Oregon, or Washington)(these are
only in my opinion alone, in no specific order):

-Needleplay, 1227 East 3300 South, Salt Lake City, Utah 84106
(801)486-5444. Nice staff, great selection of patterns.

-Jo Lynn's Stitch 'N Frame, 2480 W. 400 N., Cedar City, Utah 84720
(801)586-2700. Very friendly owner, beautifully displayed work that she
stitched, a lot of charts!

-Color Country Crafts, 622 South Main, Cedar City, Utah 84720
(801)865-7060. Huge warehouse with all crafts (they sell QSnaps).

-The Fuzzy Penguin, 3922 60th Street, Sacramento, California 95820
(916)739-1190. Popular place! Huge selection of everything!

-Sundance Needleworks, 7038 E. Broadway, Tucson, Arizona 85710
(602)886-8886 or 1-800-745-7391. Great for Native Peoples' designs.

-Stitchcraft Store, 4941E Clairemont Square, San Diego, California
92117 (619)272-4003. Great selection of charts and accessories.

-Red's Enterprises, 31 N Mojave Road, Las Vegas, Nevada (702)382-0155.
(We stayed at the MGM Grand - quite a ways away!) Huge selection of
patterns.

Hope this helps anyone going to these places! There were also a few
which I didn't list, and I personally don't recommend:

Salt Lake City: Jean's Knit Knack. I wasn't asked if I needed any
assistance until I was going out the door. No, the store was not
busy...

Phoenix: Family Arts. The other customers in there that day seemed very
snobby (not to say that the staff is).
