Once upon a time in a land far away, a beautiful, independent,
self-assured princess happened upon a frog as she sat contemplating
ecological issues on the shores of an unpolluted pond in a verdant
meadow near her castle.

The frog hopped into the princess' lap and said: "Elegant Lady, I was
once a handsome prince, until an evil witch cast a spell upon me. One
kiss from you, however, and I will turn back into the dapper, young
prince that I am and then, my sweet, we can marry and set up
housekeeping in your castle with my mother, where you can prepare my
meals, clean my clothes, bear my children, and forever feel grateful
and happy doing so."

That night, as the princess dined sumptuously on lightly sauted frog
legs seasoned in a white wine and onion cream sauce, she chuckled and
thought to herself:

.
.
.
.

"I don't freakin think so!"

Reminds me of what my friend called "The Modern Fairy Tale". It's about
a princess who kisses a bonafide prince and he turns into a frog!

It's a good thing I wasn't holding my coffee cup. My new computer would
have been a mess.

It is a nice new interpretation , but it wasn`t funny. Yet I myself at
times use old folkstories as metaphors in my own art work.
Using it in a work of art contacts it with the Old interpretation as
people remember , but tries to pull it into new meanings.
We all have the right and duty to check and see how old stories affect

our thinking patterns. And we have to try and see how old stories
affected our way of looking at the world and reacting to it.
These days more than ever, since the world`s future is affected by so
many Myths and lores.

That`s not a fairytale - just think of Prince Charles!
