When I had a lot of my mom's stuff to donate after she passed away, I called a
local school for retarded children. They were *so* grateful!!
Does your local United Way have a central location to call to volunteer or get
help? Perhaps one of those numbers could lead you in the right direction.

My EGA chapter has been asked by a local crisis shelter to donate small
kits - gives the women something to do while they wait. Ronald McDonald
House is another possibility. Both of these places could use projects
for children also.
I teach needlework to 4th, 5th, 6th graders in the after school
Community Ed program in Minneapolis. The kids pay a $2 supply fee for a
9-week session and we usually teach four projects, so we depend heavily
on donations. Maybe your local EGA chapter does something like this
also and would welcome the donation.
