Hi again,

The other thing I wanted to mention was about online newsgroups. Have
you ever read them? I've been wasting too much time on them, but some
of the messages are so funny or interesting! I've subscribed to about
20 newsgroups, but obviously I should restrict myself to one or two, as
there's no way to keep up!!!

Cheers, Bev

My apologies to the ng.
This message was intended to be sent to a personal friend, not the ng.
How embarrassing for me, and annoying for you!

I didn't have any local friends who stitched either, until I found a lady on rctn
who just happened to volunteer at another branch of the same library system I
work for. She had recently joined the local EGA & "enticed" me to join once I
began getting alternate Saturdays off. Now I have "lots" of stitching friends
that I never would have found if not for rctn. I've also met Sandy "the norse
hedgehog", who lives 23 miles in the other direction. We've met only once in
person since our schedules are so different, but she is also a local stitching
friend I would not have found if not for r.c.t.n. :-)))

Hi there, all of you who are artists and designers ..
This is a question I have wanted to ask for months so I take the chance and
ASK... When I write I am very image oriented. What I mean is I describe in
great detail certain items. One of those Items is a tapestry of the Coat of
Arms of my chief Character's family. I have struggled trying to actually
design it myself (and yes, so I can cross Stitch or needlepoint IT !) but
would need to take a year out to learn how to draw... clip art is very
limited and I am never pleased with the results.. What kind of price would
I have to pay to have an artist - such as your self, draw and graph it for
me - ? This is a design that I alone would work and you would hold the copy
right to ?? Part of the problem is, of course, I would need to LIKE your
style and you would need reimbursement for a project that will not make a
great deal of money - it's NOT going to sell on the open market, unless some
act of divine intervention makes my novels popular..(and then it would be
your responsibility to publish it) - do you even do such things, is there
any one here who would consider doing it ? I do not know if I will ever
publish this novel (S) for the world to read, and even so no one can promise
you that it/they will succeed (so others might want your design. )
Note :
Think about playing your Michelangelo to my Julius the second - and I
promise not to nag you too much !
I know it is asking a lot of an artist. It is terribly Renaissance, isn't it
... commissioning art like I was a de' Medici or a Pope ! But every time I
mentally walk into the Great Throne Room I see it and My fingers want to
make it real - this castle really exists, inside of ME... comprehend ?
IS this idea so crazy, full of legal problems, and just plain impossible
that I should forget it ? I've no artist friends or even acquaintances, but
it is something I have wanted to do for Years !!!
OR would it be prohibitively expensive to commission such an art work -??
Please answer yes or no. I have wanted to embroider this picture since I
first wrote down the image ! (there are about hundred other pictures I would
love to do for this novel and its' little sister, but for now, the coat of
arms tapestry has to be enough. WELL thanks before hand for answering, I
know you are busy people !
