ROFLMAO------when I quickly read the subject title, I misread it as "Anal
Afghan Project" and wondered what kind of designs would make up the afghan????
Apologies to the original poster.
Eleanor
I think there are one or two others of us here, too. It's really
worthwhile if people have time and inclination.

Yes, try James Farmer on angelaf...@aol.com
Also, it's Epri...@aol.com - in other words, it's a lower-case 'e'.
The precious little blankets should be done with different skin colors
too. You can use all of your scrap pieces on them.....I think the beads
and the "wisper" are a nono because they cause too much fuzz or can
become loose. Just stitch them beads on so tight no one can pull them
off!
This organization is doing a fantastic job and is organised so that
everything is donated. I can vouch for thier integrity!

Thank you so much for the endorsement, it's very much appreciated. When I
originally started the Angel Afghan Project (AAP) I had no idea what I was
getting into. I'd never done anything like this.
The AAP was started on 23 Januayr 2000, with only 6 members. Since then the
membership has grown to over 600!!!!!!! Recently an article appeared in the
British magazine Cross Stitcher. That was about 5 weeks ago. Since then the
British membership has grown from 24 members to well over 300, and is still
growing!!!!!
My original hospital list of only 10 has now grown to include over 60 hospitals
here in the USA and is over 20 in the UK. I've recently gotten a finisher in
Australia and she will be actively looking for hospitals in Australia,
Singapore and New Zealand.
When the AAP got started I only had members here in the US and England. Now
that list of countries includes:
USA
England
Scotland
Wales
Northern Ireland
Republic of Ireland
Germany
The Netherlands
Denmark
Gibraltar
Spain
South Africa
Mauritius
Singapore
Australia
The Philippines
New Zealand
Canada
Mexico
Cyprus
As you can see, we are definately getting bigger and better.
Many thanks are owed to people, such as Marilyn, Jeanne Meiers of JJM Designs,
Pat Carson of Designs by Gloria and Pat, Cheryl Urean of Stoney Creek
Collections, Zweigart Fabrics, Charles Craft, Gay Bowles Sales, Krienik, and
many, many, many more for helping to make the AAP what it's become today.
I've also gotten committments from Teresa Wentzler, Nora Corbett and other
designers to design angel charts for the AAP, and for those considerations, I
also express my deepest thanks.
If anyone out there, reading this, knows of a hospital with an NICU, please
send me information, such as the name of the hospital, their mailing address,
phone number and the name of a contact person (preferably the person in charge
of the NICU) and I will get in touch with them and see about getting them on my
mailing list. The AAP also sends to Children's Cancer Clinics for children
under the ageof 10 and I've personally taken 10 completed pieces to the
Children's Cancer Clinic at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in
Jackson, Mississippi.
If you know of stitchers who may be interested in helping with this cause,
please have them get in touch with me, either by phone (662-332-49370, fax
(662-332-9906), e-mail (angelaf...@aol.com) or even by snail mail:

They do not have to be on the Internet to participate. There are NO DEADLINES
and you are able to work at your own pace.
Please, visit our web-site at www.angelafghanproject.com or, for the UK
readers, www.angelafghan.freeservers.com. You'll find more information at
either site, but the best would probably be the first one, as the UK site is
just getting started and is still being built as I write these works. It can
be accessed, but the information there is not as great as the first site.
Again, thank you Marilyn, as well as those who have made the AAP the great
success it's become, in less the 2 years.
May God bless you all and thank you for your support and donations.
Sincerely yours,
James Farmer, Founder

Hi James
You are doing a wonderful thing!!
There is a wonderful Childrens Hospital in Vancouver BC Canada that
has a very very good NNICU. My granddaughter was born at 25 weeks and
weighed in at 504 grams! That was almost 19 years ago!! She is the
longest surviving smallest baby!! I guess she always will be as the
rest are younger than she is! They had no angel quilts or afghans
then. I would be happy to stitch one for your group!
