My wife and I are off to Copenghagen shortly and she has asked me to
find out if there are any good cross stitch shops there and if so, where
they are.
Any information will be gratefully received.
Many thanks

Last year someone else was going to Copenhagen and I posted the following information
(which I just now retrieved from DejaNews):
Lucky you!! If I was going to Copenhagen I wouldn't miss the Eva Rosenstand/Clara
Waever shop which according to my 1990 catalogue is "in the main street of Copenhagen,
"Stroget", Ostergade 42" (there's a / through the "o" in "Stroget").
Oehlenschlager OOE Design has an address of: O. Oehlenschlagers Eftr. ApS., Egegaardsvej
32-34, DK-2610 Rodovre (/ thru the lst o), Copenhagen; Tel +45 36 72 45 00
My "Permin of Copenhagen" catalogue lists an address of Carl J. Permin, 28
Egegaardsvej, DK-2610 Rodovre (/ thru the lst o). Since the address must be just down
the street from Oehlenschlager (how convenient for you!) it must be in Copenhagen also.
Hope this helps,

Dear Phil, (somewhat tongue in cheek, but true). Let Nikki go looking
in Eva Rosenstand and Permin shops if it is a nice warm sunny day. I
would head off to one of the parks (not Tivoli). When my wife and I were
there 20 years or so ago, we had a picnic lunch in one of the lovely
parks, with a huge expanse of grass. Two, well endowed, young ladies
walked over carrying, amongst other things, a blanket each. They stopped
about 6 feet away from us, spread their blankets on the grass, and
proceeded to take all their clothes off, except for underpants, and lay on
the blankets to sunbathe. Unfortunately, I did not have the nerve to get
my camera out and take close up pictures. However, it did make me notice
they were not alone in this procedure. HTH

I dont know how soon "shortly" is, but there is a big strike in
Denmark right now and a lot of things, including the Copenhagen
Airport and the Tivoli (amusement park) are closed. The needlework
shops should be open, though. My favorite is Eva Rosenstand, on
Stroget, the main shopping street, with beautiful, high quality kits.
Hope that helps,
Anna, in Lund, Sweden, who is very interested in the Danish strike
because I'm leaving for Japan from Copenhagen Airport on Tuesday.

Yes - sorry to tell you but we are in the middle of a strike and this means
TIVOLI is not open, many buses stopped and petrol is impossible to get.
Trains are OK though and eventhough nobody knows for sure - we hope it will
be over by 10th of May. But I will keep this group posted.
My favourite shop is called Shop 45 situated in a street called Fiolstræde
right next to Nørreport train station. The lady in the shop is very helpful
and she has a shop in TIVOLI too. But Eva Rosenstand has a lot of old
traditional Danish patterns too.
Have a nice trip - regards Charlie
