i am interested in starting silk painting and wondered if anyone out there
does silk painting and can give me an idea of what i need to start? i was
given a starter pack by a friend, with three colours of silk paints and the
brushes and a piece of silk, but the colours run like anything and i am sure
that there is more skill to it then that! i have painted on fabric for
years, but i am keen to try something different.

thanks...
Loraine

It is not skill that you are lacking but rather the resist. If you do not want
the colors to blend uncontrollably, the first step is normally to draw your
outline with a resist. This creates walls which the dye then stays inside of.

Hope this helps,
Naomi
