Hi, Jennifer,
No, not all silk dyes are compatible and some need steaming to set,
others can be set by ironing. They will not run together if you use a
fixative but the fixative must be washed out after you finish painting.
You can also use "resist" to outline your project (this also avoids the
paint flowing where you don;t want it, and then either wash the resist
out or use resist which remains on the silk. You can find silk and
supplies at Dharma International (I think they;re on the web) and at
