Crochet, Knitting, and Home
Decoration, Copyrighted and Published by The Florence Publishing Company,
Florence Mass,
1900. 94 pages. Halftone engravings and more than 10 color plates.9 pages
of ads.It was
very genteel but at the same time contain racist material for sofa pillow
designs along with
pictures of the pillow. This was edited by Mrs. L. Barton Wilson, of the
Art Amateur, Art
Interchange, and Harper's Bazar, Mrs. Emma Haywood, of the Jadies' Home
Journal and the
Dilineator, Miss. Emma M. Hooper, of the Ladies' Home Journal, Miss.
Alice Esdaile, of the
Montreal Society of Decorative Art and Mrs. Jennie T. Wandle, formerly of
Harper's Bazar and
the Dilineator.The frontispiece has a point lace handkerchief with
corresponding article on p. 45
on Modern Point Lace

The contents of this Periodical include a 9 page article by Mrs. L.
Barton Wilson in Shading as
the Embroiderer Should Understand It.With 8 figures and two color
plates.Lessons in
Embroidery; ( you could write to Mrs. Wilson if you were a subscriber and

The magazine is in very good condition except for what I will describe
;the covers seem to have
been pasted on and are coming off a bit. Some paper has come off the
spine for about 2" of the
bottom but this does not affect anything.There are a few less than 1/4"
tears and a 2" stain on the
bottom of the first 5 or 6 pages.
