How do I replace sponge brake on Zippy 90 please ?

Hi, I am a new member and would really appreciate some help, as I am
getting a bit exasperated now. I have an old Zippy 90 that just will
not knit any more after being stored for about 5 years. I was advised
to buy a new brake sponge needle retaining sponge, which I have finally
tracked down! It uses the same sponge brake as the LK150 I have been
informed and bought one from Andee Knits - ww.andeeknits.co.uk, I have
also bought some new needles in case they are bent and an antistatic
spray for the needlebed. So...I am all ready to go, but how do I fit it
as it has no bar to insert it into ? I don't want to ruin it after all
this effort, so please does anyone know how to fit it ? I understand
that there is a vid in Youtube, but I can't find it :-(

You'll need to remove your needles. Pull out the old sponge and press in
the new one with the fabric covered side of the sponge against the needles.
Replace the needles according to you manual.

Gee. I am sure glad to see some action in here..
I have 3 Bonds, and just got a Brother..I may need help one of these
days..I did find help here when I was trying to get my Bond going.. Have
made a lot of sweaters and afghans on the Bond..Not got a stitch off the
Brother, yet.. I do have the manual..

Check Youtube, as well. There are some great little videos of how-to-do
various things on various machines. A real wealth of easily assimilated
information.

It would be worth your while to upgrade to a basic computer. That's
cheaper than WebTV now anyway.

I have been lucky enough to find help from Craig's list..I need a new
sponge????A very nice lady from my area has offered to come and show me
how to change and clean the area??? Aanother nice lady has sent me some
dvd's on my Brother..
Who makes Zippy????? Might it be similar??
