I was just wondering what everyone is working on, scrapbook, cardmaking,
or other craft wise? I've been busy with cards, finished another baby
book a little over a month ago. I'm also working on a family heritage
scrapbook that I have to finish soon as I need to make copies to send to
my brother, sister and a couple of cousins in Canada and to my cousin in
Belgium. Other than that I am involved in a recipe swap with a group of
scrapbook friends in Florida, and getting or should I say trying to get
knitting and other craft projects done in time to wrap them as Christmas
gifts!

I've postes some things on my blog and others on my webshots and have
more to upload!

Can't wait to hear what everyone has been up to!

We are working on Exploding Boxes. We made one for a work collague of my
wife. It was her birthday and she had also just become a grannie for the
first time.

So we made an exploding box and decorated it for a new baby, we left the
fourth inner box sides empty so that she can stick in pictures of the new
baby.

Her reply: what a wonderful present I must take the camera and take more
pictures to fill it.

I am trying to get better mileage out of my QK Silhouette digital die cutter. I am using Inkscape
and have recently learned how to cut directly from Inkscape to the Sil for a much less noisy cut
than through Robomaster. This morning I have been doing paper ribbon sentiments for cards printed
onto patterned and plain paper. Just needs a little more tweaking I think but I am happy with the
result :) Also made my first card yesterday using the Silhouette. It can be seen here:

Cute. A friend of mine has a Silhouette and uses it all the time. I am still
a beginner with the Cricut, mot having time to use it much. I don't think I
have my money's worth out of it yet, though my daughter might as she uses it
for school all the time.

At this point I'm attempting to get kits together for the retreat in
Arkansas next month.
I do have an unfinished acrylic album on my table for my granddaughter's
winter ball. Have DD's and the other granddaughter's finished.
Also, still in the works is DS's scout album and his soccer LO's. Hope to
get caught up on them at the retreat.

I just opened the Winter Woodlands cartridge for my Cricut. I saw a tissue
box cover using one of the 3D shapes on the cartridge so I am going to give
that a go today after I finish up my Halloween treats.

Cards. That seems to be all I can find the time for. I love having the
cricut. And I got the wild card a few months ago. They have some really
cool shaped cards and envelopes.

Right now I am in the process of moving so most of my scrapbooking
stuff is packed. But I did leave some things out so I could finish a
couple of birthday cards for my MIL and my DD.

Big Shot Express - that is on our Christmas list and hopefully the In Laws
are going to cough up. We have so many dies but with my disability I find
it hard to use a manual machine.

I bought one using a 50% off coupon at Joann when they first came out and I
love it. Next month the Big Shot Pro is going to be released although I
believe that is going to a manual machine.

Marilyn, I love the card.

I have a Silhouette that is sitting in a box. I think I used it twice
and then just didn't use it. I'm not sure if I should try motivating
myself to use it or just sell it. I even have a $20 card to buy files
for it. I find myself using my Slice a lot more. On the other hand, if
I could make boxes to put cards in etc, that would be one way to use the
Silhouette with its bigger cutting sizes!

Wow that is a lot to get done, but I've seen you scrap up close and
personal and I know how fast you can put together those kits you put
together! I wish that I could go to Arkansas with you! What are your
plans for that and are you going through Little Rock to see Deb and
Kenda?

I am enjoying experimenting with it through Inkscape. I bought an
unlimited subscription from Quikutz and I have downloaded loads of
shapes but I like the idea of designing my own die cuts for projects. I
have just uploaded another speciality card I made 5 of last night, which
was a requested item.

http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2156388450065644347HhalSO

Personally, I think that I prefer the flexibility of QK Silhouette. I
researched various machines fairly extensively before I bought mine. I
didn't like the idea of having to buy more cards, cartridges or
additional software to cut shapes. Some of the cutter designs are way to
cutsie for my taste anyway. I have several manual die-cutters, the
Wizard, Sizzix & Sidekick, Big Shot and QKutz but the cost of buying
dies and then storing them just gets silly. Many of the dies have never
been used because I forget what I have.....LOL. Having the cutter hooked
up and the shapes on the PC make them far more accessible when I need
them.

Ooops! Apologies for sending a blank message. The cat walked on the
keyboard and she must have done it.

I've been busy making christmas cards for Operation Write Home. Their
Christmas mailing deadline is Monday and my box is only half-full!
After I finish with that, I've got to start whipping out stuff for our
church craft sale/community yard sale that we're having in December. I
used to do craft fairs with my mother but I've never tried to do a
stall by myself, so there's a first time for everything! I don't have
anything made as yet (they only announced the sale last week) so I'm
going to be BUSY!

That's really neat, being able to do your own designs instead of just the
ones you have to buy.

I've been doing more card making than scrapbooking. I need to get
re-started on scrapping.

A friend loaned me her cricut cartridges so I've been spending several hrs a
night just cutting out a bunch of stuff, putting them together, then put
them in little baggies and filing them in an accordian file holder. Works
pretty good so far.

I made some cupcakes last week for a family gathering on Saturday. It was
so much fun, but very time consuming. I got the recipe/idea from Taste of
Home magazine.

Have a great day.

It has only just been released over here in the UK, it was held back while
it was tested with other dies.

Ugh, I haven't been working on anything. I miss scrapping a lot. I
need to start setting more time aside on the weekends to get some
stuff done. Now that winter is here again, I won't have as much
trouble staying indoors. =) One of my bosses has asked me to make her
sons 1st birthday party invitations so I am glad something is going to
get me motivated again. The good news is all my hard work at work has
gotten me a nice raise and promotion, much better than I thought I
would get after a year. Its going to make buying a house much easier!
Great to hear from everyone!
