I FINALLY got my stamping area moved to a place that is out of the way
(meaning, I can leave all my stuff all over the table and not worrying about
what my house looks like if company shows up unexpectedly! LOL) and a spot
that is very comfortable. I actually got about 10 cards made last night!
Also, I finally got to play with my new leaves! Lots of fun!
What is everyone else stamping?

Hi Wendy
I have ben stamping in rubber shelf liner, it is really easy to do and
the results are amazing! Plus I have been Stamping on CD pieces and
using them for card embellishments.
I love Leaves stamps too:-))
I get blamed for everything <vbg>
What the heck can I do with double-sided paper? Each side has it's own unique
pattern. No, I don't know how to teabag fold but I do want to show off that
it's double-sided.
Ideas?
thanks
April
you fold the paper in half, then cut 1/2" snips along the fold, then fold
every other one down , so if you paper was red and white, you'd see one red,
one white, and so on.

I have been stamping and folding origami shirts to make pins and magnets. They
were very popular at the Newbury stamp show yesterday so I am looking into the
possibility of teaching a class at my local stamp shop in Eastbourne (very
excited about this) now I have to work out how to fold ties for them.

Those shirts sound ideal! I am looking for a folding pattern for
them along with kimonos for card making. Any good websites you
can recommend??
Wot? I missed this? were you doing this on the Saturday as well? I
spent around 3 hours on Saturday wandering around - got to meet The
Crafty Owl and am much looking forward to her new catalogue...
So how do you do the origami bit - and with what paperstock?

You mean buying is the purpose of this hobby? We're supposed to use the

But does that philosophy cover all the inkpads I buy cos I love
the colours so much but still havent had the heart to open up
and use yet:-))
Now if I only had enough cabinets to display them all-LOL!! Brigid in

Im stamping cats all over the place too.
Made my own stamps out of compressed sponges. Very cheap and easy.

And, I thought this was only me! I really did notice that my shopping habit
has changed. But, thought that it was just something that I was going through.
Has anyone else have this happen to them?

I haven't tried it on glass, just glossy card - it is after all a
rubberstamping tool - but now you've suggested it I might give it a try.
It might not dry too well though. Perhaps heat-resistant acetate, so I
could give it a blast with the heat gun.

I've been playing with layering, collage, etc. I had been told that one
shouldn't re-ink (embossing) between layers of UT because the embossing
ink would come to the surface. Sure enough, the next morning it did! I
put more UT on it and some other powders. The problem went away. I've
also used letters from the Dover series of books. On some I've used the
Wet Look embossing pens and embossing powder to raise parts of the
letters. On other I color in with either Pentel color pen-fine point,
gel pens, watercolor, or color pencils. Some items will run after
spraying glitter over the piece. After spraying glitter I then spray
reworkable fixative. The letter is then cutout and mounted on fun foam
to be adhered to embellished card stock. Loads of fun!

Resistance is futile.
Especially with all the really beautiful papers available now. Here's a
question - how do you store rolls of paper so they don't get ruined?

I'll see your dog and raise you a cat that at this very moment is asleep
on a pile of inkpads and a tube of glue - I hope I put the top on
firmly.

I agree they shouldnt make such beautiful papers, then I wouldnt
feel the need to assimilate them:-)))
I store my rolls of paper in a huge poster tube all rolled up
together to protect them.
LOL!
These stories put me in mind of my cat. One time I put a
painting I did on a flat surface to dry. Next morning right
across the painting was a collection of 'mysterious' paw prints
trotting all along the card:-) And you should of seen the look
of innocence on my cats face:-)
I take an old wine box with the dividers and cover it with wrapping paper to
make it look nice and then store the rolled papers in that. It holds about
3 rolls of paper in each divider.....of course, I have more than one!!

Ah, so relieved to know I'm not alone in spending as much time shopping for
STUFF as stamping! I'll let go of the guilt now before I head out to the
August rubber stamp convention - LOL.
Here's a Viva Las VegasStamps I just bought that pretty much sums it up:
"Dear ______,
They say they will let me out of Debtors' Prison if I will just stop buying
rubber stamps. Maybe you have some old catalogs I could browse through while
here?
Love, ______"
Happy buying (and maybe stamping?),
Trina
Fellow paper junkie here. :-) Just jumped into the area with both feet in
June, and have been spending my money (not even the extra money!) on paper
and stamps ever since.
AND I have a lovely six-divider metal wine "rack" given to me as a birthday
present by my dear sister and brother-in-law. Only trouble is I rarely
drink wine and really haven't had a use for it except to gather dust! It
has a handle on top so it can be carried around (by those wine fans who
want to give guests a choice, I suppose!), and right now it has two dusty
bottles of wine/champagne -- both gifts -- in it. Now I know what I can do
with it -- carry it to the craft room and use the space for my collection
of plastic margarita glasses. :-)

for example....if you are stamping on a burgundy stock and use the versamark
ink using say a heart stamp and stamp it onto the burgundy paper...you will
have a burgundy colored heart on the paper a shade or two darker than the
paper...it is WAYYYYYYYYY cool!!! the ideas are endless :)
