I'm an author of 21 books (almost all on computers and software) who's
looking for recommendations on publishers of quilting books. I have a
few ideas for quilting books that don't seem to have been done before
and I wanted to find out who does the best books in your opinion.
Feel free to drop me email at jo...@hedtke.com or post something here.
Thanks!

Yours Truly,

Do you mean who is the best publisher or do you mean author of quilt
books, or both?

I write about all kinds of different non-fiction subjects, actually.
I've a bunch of magazine articles for things other than computing, for
example, and I used to teach classes on things like instrumental music
and musical instrument making. Good non-fiction writing transcends
subjects, but it sure is fun!

Off the top of my head, I can think of 3 publishers that specialize in
quilting books:

C & T Publications
That Patchwork Place
AQS (American Quilters Society)

I'm relatively certain that they all have web pages (though I don't know
what they are off hand).

There's also Rodale Press, but they don't specialize in quilting books.

Rodale and That Patchwork Place are my favorites.

I haven't quite decided as yet. I have the idea and the outline but
it's by no means fleshed out as yet. (The way non-fiction tends to
work is that one develops the book idea and the outline, gets the
publisher's buy-in, signs the contract, and then writes the book, so
there are still some things TBD.)
