Hi, I want to paint a scene on a wall in my house and was wondering
if there were any suggestions as to what kind of paint to use and if
there is something than can be used to "seal" the scene. It needs to
be something that can be washed without harming the picture. Thanks
in advance for any advice!

Hi Stacy,

I am painting a mural on my dining room wall, it is a garden scene. I
used Benjamin Moore Latex interior flat for the large sections, like the
sky and the fence, gate and arbor. For the plants and flowers I am using
Ceramcoat and Americana acrylics.

I would think that you could seal with something like "Designs from the
Heart" or Jo Sonja sealer.

Would like to hear more about what you are doing. Good luck, Dawn

Years ago I did several of the walls in my house. Just grabbed artist's
acrylic (I bought some common colours in big jars) and started in. Never
sealed it. It's all still there. Except where I painted over wallpaper
and the wall paper eventually peeled off. Sealing would probably be good
and acrylic medium would work well. It'd make washing it less tricky.
