My question is about the cheap, mounted canvases I bought
yesterday. I got them at Hobby Lobby. Brand name is "fine
touch." They really are cheap canvases. (All I can afford.)
With the canvases (2 per pack) came small bags of 8 little
pieces of wood. They are almost rectangular -- one of the
short edges is slanted. They are about 3/4" by 3" and are
only about 1/8" or less thick.
What are these pieces of wood used for?
Thanks in advance from someone who knows little about
painting!

These are for tightening the canvas. Painting on the canvas might cause
it to loosen, and you'd hammer these pieces in the corners of the
stretcher on the back until the canvas is tight again.
I haven't used them myself, maybe someone can give you more details (and
some visual aids). Good luck!
