I had a really similar lathe in my garage a long time ago, but,
unfortunately, mine was worn to death.

Hmm, who do I know who has a forklift? And would it fit in the
back of my truck? And would my truck handle another massive road
trip? And who would feed the cat while I was gone?

So many questions, so few answers.

But I did get a 95% on the mid term.

Its between 1800 and 2000 lbs as I recall. I had one from the same
place...but it was badly worn on the ways. So some 15 or so years
ago they gave it to me and I ran the hell out of it, then gave it away
to a buddy, who turns stuff that only needs .009 +/- 0 (truck
suspension parts) and he is still using it.

I can made the deal very very attractive to you if you want to come
down and get it.

And Bravo! on the mid term grade!!

Do you have a bill of sale proving that you are THE OWNER?

Or is this another of your attempts to sell the property of others,
take the money and disappear?

On a related subject...we see that your taxes are not paid
yet...what's the delay?

So first list all the tools you have and provide proof of ownership
for each tool.

Should be real easy for you. You never provide any answers to on
topic questions, so my guess is that you do not actually own any
tools and do not know how anything works. So just admit you do not
have any tools , and that one would be too many.

Yes, Usenet has a long, long memory.

I stole a 75 ton transfer molding machine once. Note; that's the force it
generated, not it's actual weight. It fit nicely on a F800 flatbed. We set
it up on a shop on rural PA way out in the boonies. I went to the nearest
roadhouse the drink my lunch and in walked the guy who more or less owned
it. Actually, the company was in Chapter 11 and the bank really owned
everything but we were making off with the big pieces.

Ask for Toby. Comptroller of the company.

Tell him you are willing to give him $5000 for it. And supply
loading, shipping and will have it trucked to your locale.

Now of course everyone else will pay less than $1500 for it..in some
cases..a lot less than $1500...considering that they told me to sell
it for whatever I can get out of it...but hey..for you...$5k works for
me. And I get 15% commission. So TMT will be paying me a fair chunk

This just shows how naive TMT is. He seems to think that one has to
own something in order to sell it. How stupid. I guess he believes
real estate agents own the real estate they sell. And some how he
thinks one needs to have exclusive rights to sell some thing. Guess
he has never bought or sold any real estate and has no clue about
multple listings.

TMT lives in the basement of his mommas brownstone and owns nothing
beyond a computer and a badly sprung recliner where he resides.

Id be terribly surprised if he even owned a hammer....

If he did...he would have posted photos of them ..any of them..over

He has NEVER posted anything regarding metalworking. Ever.

He is here simply as a troll, because here he can get people worked

It would seem that if you had the right, you would be posting

Why in the fuck should he? --he's not the one who's trying to sell tools.

----

FWIW, I've been buying tools for ~40 years now and yes, I have records on
file for the vast majority of them.

Standard practice with machine tools or anything worth over a few hundred
bucks is I'll provide the seller with a bill of sale wherein he affixes his
signature certifying that the article is free of encumbrances and that he is
the legal owner of said article or is authorized to sell it on behalf of the
legal owner and so forth.

That way, if something turns out to be stolen, Gummer goes to jail instead
of me, and instead of getting screwed when the item is returned to it's
rightful owner, my insurance first covers MY loss and THEN gets to try and
recover it's own loss by hauling him into court and slapping a lien on his
junk pile.

And that is very reasonable. But what TMT is asking for is to have
Gunner provide proof of ownership or proof of being authorized to act
as a sellers agent before anyone has even expressed interest in
buying. It makes perfect sense to get a signed bill of sale when
buying a tool. But how many people provided you proof of ownership
before you even expressed an interest in buying a tool?

So since TMT is asking for Gunner to prove he has authorization to act
as a sellers agent when no one has expressed an interest in buying,
why is it not equally inane to have TMT prove that he actually owns a
tool? Neither case makes any sense.

Excellent description..thanks.

So Mark Wieber aka Gummer...now that someone has described the
procedure, what do you have to show any prospective buyers as proof
that you have a legitimate right to broker this item?

LOL..so now we have little Danny trying to justify his behavior.

Mark Wieber aka Gummer is the one who put out that a machine is for
sale.

buyers.

No you haven't.

All you have done is to make lies and excuses...meanwhile not
providing one bit of proof that you have the right to broker this
item.

On the subject of lies and excuses...does the IRS and the State of
California know about your new income coming from selling machines
under the table?

Considering that you owe back taxes to everyone, I would think they
would be very interested in any income..especially undeclared
income..that you are receiving.

That reminds me...did you know that any one who gives a lead to a
nonpayer who owes taxes on undeclared income gets a 10% reward...so
anyone who reads this and tips off the IRS about someone who has been
selling machinery on Usenet but not reporting it could make some easy
money.

So Mark Wieber of Taft, CA...can you think of anyone like that?

That is something that has interested me for years.
Apparently his place is so worthless that it isn’t worth repossessing
over back property taxes.
Around here you won’t last out a full year if you don’t at least make
payments.
Typically they start repossession procedures after you are 6 months
late on your taxes.
Apparently he hasn’t paid any property taxes in several years.
Around here a real estate guy would just pay the back taxes and sell
the land, assuming that the land had fell through the cracks and
hadn’t already been taken over by the county.

LOL..one thought of mine that do consider at times is to motivate Kern

Hey, wait just a doggone minute, you... I suggested that YEARS ago and got a sound thrashing from everyone, including (to my surprise) Ed Huntress. It was all along the lines of "what's said in rcm stays in rcm."

So, I haven't *yet* reported the gummybear's illegal off-the-books business dealings to the IRS or any other authority, but I still think it is:
a) a good idea just to put the bastard in his place
b) a good idea because the rest of us taxpayers are carrying his load
c) a good idea because it might do him some good to find out that he is NOT above the law
d) a good idea because, well, it's just a good idea.

Either way, I thought of it first, and if there's any bounty to be had, I demand a fair cut.

One of my neighbors discovered that the taxes hadn't been paid in
nine years, after he died. Once a year the county sells 'Tax
certificates' for unpaid property tax. The owner has a chance to redeem
them by paying the amount due, plus interest.

The only one I know of the county seizing was ten years before they
claimed the land and bulldozed the old house.

I don't know about all localaties but I'd looked into the tax sales at one
time. The owner had several years to pay up. The interest was a little
batter than the banks were paying so it wasn't a bad investment but very few
of the properties ever changed hands.

Dude, I am not the one with documented tax liens on my property. My mortgage is paid in full (as a matter of fact, I received (woo hoo!)the finalized paperwork just this past week). I expect that I probably pay more in taxes than you earn in total. I KNOW I pay more in taxes that Weiber claims to have earned in recent years.

You might want to grab a dictionary and look up "defame." Merely repeating the blowhards own words cannot, by definition, be defamatory. Dropping a dime on him with the federal authorities would be downright patriotic, and I would think that any of Gunner's "unit, corps, god, family, country in that order" followers would do the same. It is, after all, the constitutional thing to do. Mr. Weiber has, by his own admission, lived off the public teat. It is his DUTY to repay his debt. When the authorities come to take him away, he will be given a choice... He can, instead of exercising his second amendment rights, exercise his fifth amendment right to keep his mouth shut. Which is what he should have been doing all along.

To be in your pussified kill file would be an honor. You will not be in mine, as I don't have one. I know how to read, and I know how to push the arrow keys on my computer to skip those posts that don't interest me. An opposing viewpoint does NOT disqualify anyone's posts from capturing my interest. Unlike you and your ilk, I believe that everyone is entitled to their viewpoint, and listening to someone else's is part of an education. Otherwise, you might as well be like, well, Gunner who gets all his news from right wing sources and is quick to dismiss anything that doesn't fit his predetermined dogma.

And I don't think you're nearly as right as you think you are about how many kill files I'm in. I recently posted a non-political question here (in rcm, I know not, nor care not which groups you haunt) and received MANY answers, public and private - most from people on the opposite end of the political spectrum from me - those who one would think would have been the first to plonk me. Most of the answers were helpful, some were a bit snarky, but they were responses nonetheless.

***
Attention Whoyakidding's Ghost ***
I am reminded by this conversation that a few years ago, when I brought up the topic of the IRS tip line (not the last time, but a time before that), Weiber claimed that his accountant or lawyer had made a special arrangement with the IRS such that anyone attempting to point out his malfeasance would be dealt with (by the feds) in a most unpleasant manner. You might want to look into that one.
