A man is much more likely to be attacked by his wife than by a mugger

So why then do gun nuts worry about the mugger who is much less a
threat than their wife?

Considering that she is more likely to shoot you than any imaginary
mugger will....and she will shoot you with your own gun.

Tell me. Do you have locks on your singlewide's doors? Do you have
smoke alarms and fire extiguishers? Do you tie you bicycle to a lamp

Chances are you might be shot by your wife because of the way you treated
her. The criminals don't care about little things like that.

Why do you worry about "gun nuts?"

Shouldn't you be worrying about the negro on white crime rate in
your state?

Why aren't your local papers reporting the negro on white crimes
that the local police and FBI show in their statistical reports?

Remember, crime reporting and hiding the race was your idea as a
liberal. But, the information is right there.

Yes, that's true.

However, when faced with the choice between a known threat and an
unknown one, people will almost always choose the known threat even if
the probability if injury is far greater.

But, then... your spouse is the *second* most likely person to shoot
you. The person *most* likely to shoot you is ... <DRUM ROLL> ...
you!

Well, he really should have said "spouse" because a spouse has the
second greatest probability of being shot... children come right
behind the spouse, followed by other immediate family. Family pets
are also frequent targets.

Face it, for some people, marriage is a 24/7 cat fight... dunno why
they stay married. Then, one day...

Ho-ho! There's another one.

Tell us, "Robert," and this is a really curious cultural issue with
which you could help us out: Why is it that you rightards so often

I could see it if you';re coming out on the short end of an argument;
white trash will reach for anything when they're down and desperate.
But that isn't the case here. You really have no need to throw another

Is it something in your upbringing? Did yo' momma threaten you with

Or what? Help us out here with ah honest answer.

While at the same time Predator logged his IP address and sent an

And since he admits to having numerous firearms, the SWAT team will be

What do you think the Patriot Act was for?

And it was created and implemented under BUSH.

The Feds regularly scan Usenet for possible threats and leads to
terrorists, both foreign and domestic.

Leads are forwarded to local authorities for watch and wait or
immediate action.

The laws regarding sawed off shotguns and silencers are some of the
most egregious violations of common sense I can think of. First off,
a $200 tax on a 5 buck silencer is punitive, and second, the idea that
it is felony to fail to pay a $200 tax is ridiculous. How many of us
in this group have owed a $200 tax bill before? This tax was the
justification the Feds used to murder Randy Weavers family, and also
to murder almost a hundred people in Waco.

LOL, what is there to know? It's not rocket science to make sure

Be sure and send them to my house too, so they can check my short

And Randy's wife deserved to die because a 200 dollar tax had not been
paid. And according to Weaver, and I believe his story, the shotgun
had been the correct length when it had been sold. BATF cutting
another 1/4 inch off the stock or barrel is totally within the realm
of what those bastards would do to in order to flex their muscle.

Just what we need, another Ruby Ridge. Maybe we can find Lon Horiuchi to
shoot another mother holding a child.

> Hopefully they will bring a tape measure with them when they visit.

That's what I use.

I've done this to several shotgun barrels. Obviously, it won't work
with ribbed barrels. For my Remington 1100, I picked up a cheap used
plain barrel at a gun show. In fact, I recommend you do the same.

1)Measure the length of the barrel with a tape measure down the barrel
against the bolt face to confirm starting length length, 28".

2)If you're taking off 9", measure 9" minus a bit (1/16"?) from the
muzzle.

3)Put a pencil mark there. Check to make sure the length from the
pencil mark to the buttplate is at least 26".

4)Wrap several turns of masking tape around the barrel centered on the
mark.

5)Repeat 1 through 3 and put a new pencil mark on the tape.

6)Repeat 1 and 2. You REALLY DON'T want to cut off shorter than 18"
from the bolt face or overall length of 26". I measure three times.

7)Remove the barrel from the shotgun and secure it in a padded vise.

8)Use a tubing cutter with a sharp roller blade and start with just
enough tension on the blade to cut the tape and scribe a faint line
all around at the pencil mark. Because the barrel is probably slightly
tapered, the cutter will want to move toward the muzzle, so don't try
to cut too deep, just keep it following the line. After a couple of
turns, increase the cutter pressure SLIGHTLY and turn a couple more
times, watching that the cutter blade is still in the line. Keep doing
this, but don't hurry, the only sloppy job I did on one of these was
when I tried to go too fast.

9)Peer down the barrel, you'll see the cutter pushing metal into the
bore long before you cut through.

10)When the cutter has separated the muzzle from the barrel, you'll
have an ugly burr inside the barrel. I use a rotary deburring tool to
take it out and clean up with a file, but you can do it with a round
file if you're careful not to nick the bore.

11)Measure length of barrel and overall length with barrel installed.
OK, so I measure FOUR times. :^)

12)Cold blue the bare metal at the muzzle.

The illegal part is if you go under 18" in the barrel or 26" over all
length, this would violate NFA '34, turn yourself in.

I realize, Too Much A Fool, that this involves metalworking, a subject
that you know nothing about (like most subjects). If you need help, have
a 5th grader read it aloud to you and explain it.

LOL...not one conservative has been able to deny that its the
Truth...that their wife is more likely to shoot them than any
imaginary boogyman.

In fact it is suspected that conservatives feel the need for guns
because of the domestic abuse they receive from their wives.

Thinking a gun will prevent your wife from beating you is false
hope....conservative women are known as much for their abusive
behavior as they are for their stupidity...remember they were stupid
enough to marry you.

There there's something to be said for the passive agressive wives. The
ones who berate their husbands. Argue like it's a hobby. Piss and moan.
Try to get their husbands to slap the shit out of then when they need it so
they can call the cops and end up with everything. Or drive him to
drinking, cancer, or suicide. Had one that kept me up arguing the night I
got home from spending five days in the hospital having a heart stent put
in, so about two in the morning, I went and slept in my car at a truck stop
in freezing weather.

There are some women like that. I was married to one. And just before I
was going to kill her, I left her.

There are abusive women in the world, and they don't lay a finger on their
spouses. And they know exactly what they're doing

Nope, unless you can show that he owns it illegally then you don't have a
case, because under federal law one can legally own a sawed off shotgun as
long as certain conditions are met.

I even posted links to show you the legal nature they can have, but

Wrong again, but you seem to be consistent in your ignorance.

No, if the barrel is less than 18" then one has to pay a $200 tax, register

Men and women both equally behave in this dysfunctonal manner...and
conservatives with their limited acceptance of new ideas behave more
in this manner.

We see it here on Usenet...the bitching, the whining, the name
calling...just extention of their home life.

And I have seen many, many conservative families where the husband and
wife behave this way.

Pity the children and pets...it is a very high stress environment.

The sad thing is that children learn how to treat others by witnessing
their parent's relationships....so many times the pattern of verbal
abuse continues into the next generation with their marriages...where
their children then learn the pattern of verbal abuse.

And in a conservative family where the mask of "family values" and
"religious values" is used as a smoke screen, tensions run high to the
point where physical violence occurs....with guns readily available.

So it is very likely one's conservative wife will shoot her husband
before that make believe mugger ever does.

Possibly, but since there is no evidence that anyone cut a shotgun so

Additionally, several guns that would normally be considered to be rifles

What do you base that on, the shortage of news reports about legally
owned, legal length sawed off shotguns that haven't been used in crimes?

You show 5 reports of illegally sawed off shotguns. I own 5 sawed off
shotguns and have shortened 3 others, all over 26" OAL and all with
barrels over 18". No Club Fed for me.

Out of a total of 13, then, 62% are legal and legally owned.

That was easy, maybe you should do your homework so you don't show us
you don't know what you're talking about.

So you admit there are legally owned ones....so clearly owning one doesn't
automatically mean one is in violation of federal law.

The whole point of this thread.

Liar.

As the OP the whole point of this thread was...

"A man is much more likely to be attacked by his wife than by a
mugger".

Which is the Truth.

I'm sorry, I thought you were suggesting that there are no legal short

And in general.

I mean, aside from TMT, how spends more time around muggers, than
around their wives?

That's like saying "people who own typewriters or books are more
likely to get paper cuts than those who don't."

I left a different newsgroup because of the inabiltiy of anyone there
to ever admit any type of mistake, or to even be civil. I try civil
first, If all I get in return is asshole, well i can play that too.

Did you know that 40% of children are not their father's offspring and
the father doesn't know it.

That precentage is likely much higher in conservative families.

Where are the husbands....who knows...running around doped up with
their toy guns and playing Watch Captain like Tiggerman.

Show the basis for those odds. In a recent post, I said that adding the
5 illegal shotguns listed above to the 8 legally sawed off shotguns I
know of gives a 62% likelihood in that limited population that the
shotgun is legal.

Give us the basis for your assertion or shut up.
