I'd like to do a simple net between two palm trees that are about 6 feet
apart. I'm picturing horizontal and vertical ropes that are tied at the
intersections with some type of "bend" knot, and the grid is 8 to 12
inches. I've seen the net weaving instructions, but this does not seem
to be what I'm after. Is there an appropriate knot that a novice could
manage?

I saw a hammock made by some philipino crewmen on a wood chip ship
once that was made with ropes and insted of net knots they made the
mesh by using double constrictor knots it worked very well.

Have you seen this thread about cargo nets, earlier posted in this
group? (If the link doesn't work, try searching Google Groups for
Cargo Nets, under rec.crafts.knots)
