4 inch lamp ring

Hello, I am in the process of building my first Odyssey lamp kit. A 14 inch tulip dome. All pieces cut and foiled - then I ordered a 4 inch ring and wheel. My issue is that the ring I ordered from Delphi is actually 4.5 inches and does not seat into the lamp mold. Is this a common problem and I should adjust my pattern or should I return the ring? I expected the sizing to be common.

I'm sorry you're having this problem. I aways place the ring on the mold before working. But sinn certainly you are past that see how it fits on the mold then try to trim the top pieces. Possibly you can lift the pieces to fit around the ring. But before you do anything be sure that the dwheel & cap fit. If they don't, you have a bigger problem & should definitely call Delphi.
