UPDATE: Wisconsin Elections Commission will not consider Minocqua Brewing Company owner Kirk Bangstad's fallacious complaint to remove Trump from 2024 ballot

MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC) will not consider
a complaint filed by Kirk Bangstad, owner of the Minocqua Brewing Company
to remove former President Trump from the 2024 ballot.
In an email to media outlets from the WEC, Public Information Officer
Riley Vetterkind stated: "The complaint was disposed of without
consideration by the Commission. It is the position of the Commission that
a complaint against the Commission, against Commissioners in their
official capacities, or against Commission staff, warrants an ethical
recusal by the body."
The complaint claims that Trump is ineligible to appear on the 2024
presidential primary due to his involvement in the January 6 insurrection.
Bangstad's claim argues that Trump's actions violated his oath as
President and disqualifies him from holding any federal office.
The complaint follows a similar challenge that was rejected by Michigan's
Supreme Court
So far, Colorado's Supreme Court is the only state that has successfully
banned the former president from the 2024 ballot, but it will likely be
appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court.
